Nine and Rose series!

I would love to be proved wrong of course!

Allowing myself to indulge in rampant fanwank speculation, they could - a propos of what @MrColdStream said above - do 2-part finale across both ranges? The final Jodie/Mandip audio in May being part 1 and the final Chris/Billie audio in June being part 2?

Mind you, Rose meeting another Doctor does sort of go against her reaction to his regeneration in Parting of the Ways but if it means we get Chris and Jodie together I don’t really mind.

Everything is possible. Multi-Doctor stories are built on time streams put of sync and memory shenanigans after all

I was going to say, if 9 meets 13 then he will definitely have his mind wiped after, but that’s pretty standard now.

Or I’d love if 9 and Rose met 13 and Yaz and for some reason they were all being incognito so they have a whole adventure together but never say who they really are :star_struck:

As standard as Eight suffering from amnesia in every other story :joy::joy:

This is a bit similar to what they did with some of the River stories she shared with other Doctors.

This is true, but he’s also gone on record for saying that he’d love to do a story with Jodie!

Well yes, if they want to do it they’ll do it but the mindwipe thing only worked for me when the returning past Doctor travelled alone, which was most of the time.

Them meeting their future self and not retaining it when they returned to their timeline, fine. But Rose wouldn’t be meeting her future self so I guess an automatic mindwipe would feel too handwavey. With Jamie in The Two Doctors, I figured Season 6B was a messing with memories anyway.

Look, none of it matters ultimately - if they want to do it and Chris is game then they’ll do it and the amnesia can just apply to Rose as much as the Doctor “just cos handwave handwave” and I’ll have had a great time listening to Jodie and Chris having a blast as their Doctors together.

I think 13 and Yaz pretending would be more fun and less awkward from a canon perspective.

Did we ever get a female version of the ‘John Smith’ alias from 13 (or Fugitive)?

From the wiki:

The Thirteenth Doctor once made use of a variant, “Jane Smith”, while hiding her true identity from Martha Jones. (COMIC: A Little Help from My Friends [+])

I think she should call herself Sarah Jane Smith in a situation like that and make me cry

Oh yeah, I was more just meaning with classic Doctors too Out of Time style. But I’d love a 13 crossover too!

Need me a double disc special where due to time shenanigans, Rose and Yaz switch places and we’ll have Yaz and Nine becoming besties and Thirteen seeing Rose and absolutely going through it. And then of course when we’re at the halfway point of the story the Doctors finally find each other and idc what they would do honestly, anything would be peak fiction they could go shopping for all I care.

Billie Piper on whether Rose would love the 13th Doctor

I wish 13 had still called herself John Smith and not understood why it confused people.

“No, I’ve checked, this is definitely one of the most common names for humans from this era!”

“Only for men? Remind me what a man is again?”

My headcanon is that Time Lords (and especially the doctor) don’t have a concept of gender so yeah.

Very valid. And considering what both 8 and 12 said with a few Lines, this very much has some roots in the actual Show (and the EU) too!

For real!!

While I also feel like it would have been a good moment, like when 14’s psychic paper gendered him as a woman, I do feel like the Doctor knows about genders even if Time Lords don’t use them. Otherwise, it would feel more like Strax and a joke than a statement.

That’s true; obviously they are not stupid and have existed around humans long enough to be aware of gender as a construct.

But also if you look at the quotes from the EDAs above there is a lot of vague language like “I’m not sure…” and “I don’t think…” that really speaks to me as a genderqueer person. Like yeah! Gender is like that sometimes! It’s hard to know what exactly it means and how you identify! And I think it makes sense for the doctor to be unable to precisely define gender, even if they are aware of it.

Yeah even ignoring that time lords wouldn’t necessarily have human understanding of gender, I’ve always seen The Doctor as enby. They understand the concept more than Strax, but at least within themselves and others of their species probably don’t see it the same way. At least that’s how I view it as an enby myself

Incredibly excited for this but its sad they are limited quite a bit and cant use : Daleks,Cybermen and The Master

Well, they could… they’d just need to wipe memories after each time.

But actually, I think this is a positive. We’ve had enough of those villains for a while, let’s see some new things

Using the Daleks really would be a bad idea in light of how important they are to the arc of Series 1.

The Cybermen have featured in Nine’s solo audios already.

The Master is everywhere in BF and I think it would need to be a new Master because Simm is so tied to Tennant’s characterisation of the Doctor (in terms of being a mirror for him in the same way Delgado mirrors Pertwee and Gomez mirrors Capaldi.

It will be good to get lots of fresh stories with new monsters and villains - or maybe a few left-field returnees.
