Arrived today.
I was going to say BF should start using digipaks or eco-paks instead of fatboxes or multiple jewel cases in a sleeve, since they’d take up less space… but then I thought about what a pain it would be to unfold them in the car, and now I think BF should just start packaging things in multi-disc DVD cases.
I imagine The King’s Demons is better as a novelisation. The Master reveal would be more of a surprise and the limited movement of Kamelion won’t exist. The story can just breathe, free of distractions.
Oh I don’t know. I remember being very bored reading the novelisation.
Can someone enlighten(ment) me on what was wrong with the original discs? Thanks.
I found this to be the best story of the set. I hope you enjoyed it.
Wrong music and TARDIS door sounds apparently.
First of a few deliveries. You’re welcome for the pennies @shauny .
That’s a huge package! They’ll keep you busy for a little while.
I’m really keen to find out your thoughts on the boxset as a whole, but primarily the episodes All of Time and Space and Curiosity Shop
Ahh, thanks.
Now I’m intrigued! I won’t get to it for a little while though as I’ve set myself the task of holidaying on Peladon for the near future!
For sure!
The only things I do need to look at getting are the remainder of the Collection limited edition versions (as I already have a 50/50 split… I didn’t know they released limited edition collections after season 18 until 2022) and the Power of the Daleks !
Just arrived.
Excited to listen to The Quintessence as this got positive comments on the forum.
Wasn’t planning to explore The Churchill Years but it was a good price on Ebay and the money goes to a hospice, so it was an easy decision.
There’s some good stuff in The Churchill Years. I’ve reviewed them most of them on my blog (and must transfer them all over to the site).
Unimpressed by the ‘very good’ condition of Heroes and Monsters.
Have complained and got a 50% refund which means it only cost £1.30 - I’ll take that.
Ah… That’s really not the condition I’d describe as ‘good’. Congrats on the refund tho
I had to go back and check the listing because I know ebay’s definition of ‘good’ allows for some creasing and even markings inside the book. I usually go for ‘very good’ because you don’t expect what I got with this one which is why I was surprised and disappointed.
But now I’m off to get that badge!
I’ve no idea eBay works like that…
On Xianyu (the Chinese equivalent of eBay) we usually use a percentage rather than descriptive words and people often have a general consensus of what a number indicates. This Heroes and Monsters looks like a 70% for me
I might be in the minority but I absolutely adore Stephen Noonan’s First Doctor. He blew me away in Once and Future, I believe he’s got Bill Hartnell’s mannerisms and manic glint down to a T. However, I must admit Michael Troughton’s Second Doctor still hasn’t won me over, I much prefer Frazer Hines’ take on the character. Nevertheless, I’m quite looking forward to listening to his second and third boxsets. More 2 is always welcome!
