New Big Finish Website

Well my library is almost back up to snuff. I am missing 2 releases now: Helicon Prime and Dark Season: Legacy Rising. At this point, it’s more annoying than anything else. I hadn’t listened to Dark Season yet and idk when I was going to listen to it and Helicon Prime is literally $3.50 to replace on download which I could swing if absolutely necessary.

A very fun discovery though! The Classic Doctors 2025 Bundle is showing about $350 USD. If you buy them separately with the new multibuy bundles, they come in at around $317. Definitely worth the extra 5 minutes to add them individually to the basket vs the bundle.

I had the same thought with the Thirteenth Doctor, if you add them all individually you save about £2.50 compared to the bundle lol - not much but it does mean their bundle prices aren’t actually saving you money anymore, they might have to rethink that…

Not sure if I did something wrong or if this is a problem with their site…

I decided to get the first 5 Thirteenth Doctor audios - I hadn’t bit the bullet yet but really want to show support for Jodie and Mandip, and the new bundle discount makes it even cheaper.

I chose the “PayPal pay later” option which is supposed to be like an interest-free loan. I thought, I’m not getting these audios for ages so might as well not actually pay out the money straight away if possible.

Anyway it turns out it just took the whole amount in one chunk anyway and forgot about pay later?

Might just be me and my account but something to be aware of!

I think I’ve found everything. I find the new site harder to navigate than the old one, but I don’t think I’ve lost anything, which is a bonus.

You know, I just noticed… Where’s the wishlist feature??

I used to use it all the time to quickly check if releases I wanted were on sale. But it’s not there now…

You can always save things to “your list” on TARDIS Guide!

It’s interesting that you mention those two particular titles are missing. I know of at least a couple of other people who are missing Helicon Prime and I’m missing Dark Season. It does seem there are a few specific titles that don’t seem to be pulling through at all to people’s accounts.

I was going to wait before I emailed BF about my missing title but maybe I will , just so they’re aware that Dark Season seems to be a problem title for several people.

By the way, Dark Season is great so I hope you do get to listen to it soon!

Just tried to actually make a purchase for the first time. Gosh that was a pain. I also got the confirmation email before actually completing the order???

I’m a lot more chill about the app now. It’s perfectly good and functions nicely for me. I think they’ve fixed it.

The website is a much bigger deal and will be much harder to develop into something people are generally happy with. Still though, because I’ve got TARDIS Guide for logging my releases and filtering the different Big Finish releases to help work out what to buy / listen to, it’s not the end of the world.

Let me know if you spot any links that don’t work – Big Finish changed the URL of every story, but they are redirecting them, hopefully they are all working.

I’m planning a major redesign of TARDIS Guide, but I’ve learnt from BF’s blunders that I need to get feedback first, and I definitely won’t be removing any features!

I don’t know if this is possible, but would you be able to link up to the Big Finish site with the wishlist feature to have live price updates? I mainly used BF website’s wishlist to check if what I wanted was on sale. Love that TARDIS Guide has one, but could it track prices?

Istg have they actually fixed this yet. I’ve changed my password and followed the instructions but now it doesn’t recognize my account at all and I’m still missing a bunch of audios since May.

I’ve put my head in the sand recently hoping they’d fix it but Torchwood End Game should’ve released yesterday and I pre-ordered it. On CD too but still.

Plus I got reminded that I have to listen to Torchwood Disco in 10 days. Or 12 depends on my mood.

Edit: oml I updated my password again just in case and it still says I can’t access my downloads. I could genuinely cry.

That’s a feature I had planned, also with email alerts if anything on your list goes on sale.

With the removal of wish lists their end, it might be a good idea for me to build this sooner rather than later…

So, I sent my emails inquiring about my purchases that were missing from the website dashboard (but were appearing on the app) on August 7. I’m still not seeing them in the website dashboard. How long should I wait before pestering them again? Part of me says I should just leave it and let them work, part of me says this is ridiculous and they’re taking too long. Yes, I do have everything that’s been released downloaded (I think). And yes, the pre-orders aren’t out yet. So part of me feels I’m just being impatient. So, with there being various web designers on this forum, when should inquire again?

I want to say wait until they start releasing things again, because that feels like an easy indication that they think they’ve fixed everything, so any remaining problems will be things they’ve missed, rather than things they’re actively working on

Given that their Customer Services are apparently several days behind in replying to queries, I suspect that it’s unlikely anyone has even seen your email yet let alone had a chance to act on it. So I think you are going to have a little patient with them.

My general rule of thumb whenever I have to contact any Customer Service about anything is to give them a week to respond. A lot of companies seem to have 5 working-day turnaround times for responding to queries so I try to be generous. With BF currently, that turnaround time may be slightly longer of course but at least give them a week.

That being said, your particular issue is not uncommon. I think pretty much every BF customer has the same problem. So I suspect the problem is being worked on already. At least I hope it is. So maybe we’ll all get an update sooner rather than later.

So I had emailed enquiries on August 7 and got an automated reply mentioning how far behind they were and to email bfapp which I did. I got an actual reply from enquiries later that day. I haven’t heard back from bfapp and no change to where my missing titles are visible has occurred. So, I will continue waiting. Two of my pre-orders that haven’t shown up are two that release (hopefully) this month: Trials and Susan’s War.
