And don’t forget that he was also cloned into Jenny, a.k.a. Georgia Tennant, so that adds another one
It would!
Though I’d definitely want to see one of them just be David Tennants hand.
And I suppose both logo’s are a diamond…
Good point!
Makes me think we should work 5 into it as well…
the 1 David Tennant so far Era
Can I just say that “Tennant Fatigue” is a very real thing . I’d take an entire episode of just following the Watcher from Logopolis around without dialogue for 45 minutes before I would recommend Tennant coming back
Well, you know, I’d actually be interested to see a return of the Watcher as well…
Yes I think The Watcher could be a really good creepy character for another regeneration.
But I vote for more Tennant!!!
Well, Crowley knows where Gallifrey is in Good Omens canon, and we could do a Ducktales crossover, and have him playing Scrooge McDuck…
If it was like “Staged” with 14 & 15 I wouldn’t object Tennant is an amazing person and a terrific actor to boot. But I think we have had enough of him until the 70th where he no doubt will return
I actually kinda like the idea of the Ducktales crossover. At least then, he’d:
a) not be the Doctor
and:
b) Have a Scottish accent
I doubt we’ll actually get much Tennant in the immediate future on Doctor Who. If we do, it’d probably be a UNIT cameo or something. (Unless we actually do get a spinoff with him…)
People are idiots.
That we undoubtably are
I do tech support. Can confirm that people are idiots…
I just realized that IMDb now has 9-13 and 14+ now as separate shows when it didn’t before, so as it’s becoming more confusing I will now refer to it as one show with 40 seasons.
This is going to be even more confusing, but my first thought was
Classic (64-Cancellation)
Wilderness (everything in between up to 2005)
Modern (everything up to the Season 1 rebrand)
Contemporary.
Classic
Modern
Disney
or
Classic, by Doctor
Modern, by Showruner
Well in a recent interview RTD let it slip that Disney have only commissioned 2 seasons.
I’m sure if it’s a success they will renew that. But if not, who knows, it could hop across to Amazon or Apple or Netflix.
So I wouldn’t call any era after Disney. Doesn’t seem permanent enough!
That’s interesting - I’d not seen that.
I’ll admit, one thing that had occurred to me about Doctor Who starting over from season 1 and being more streaming focused; streamed shows tend to last 5 seasons or less.
I wouldn’t actually be that surprised if the end of the RTD2 era was Doctor Who being cancelled again. Hopefully not permanently, and hopefully I’m wrong…
The thing about Doctor Who now is that, I don’t think it can ever truly die. Even if the TV show stops, I would be very surprised if BF had their licence revoked. Bearing in mind how things continued in the Wilderness Years, in an age where it’s even easier to share content, be creative and keep the spirit of shows alive, Doctor Who is always going to be there in some shape or form. At a very base level, the companies know there are fans with money to burn.
I’ll be hugely sad if the show finishes on TV, but I know the fandom won’t die because of it.
