I was in a couple of plays in school, yes. I once had aspirations to become an actor, but that ultimately went nowhere.

Yep. In primary school I played a mouse in a nativity and at church I played everything from a wise man to a shepherd to an angel to a Roman dad. I also played the narrator in a play called Papa Panov which was basically second lead because I had the most lines after the eponymous character 
. At secondary school I played a homeless orphan in a short play about Dr Barnado. Then I played the murderer in a play called Murder at the Music Hall (or something like that). I was always annoyed that the teacher in charge decided to change the murderer each night because part of the play was the audience voting for who they thought had done it. I only got to be the murderer on one night but held true to the fact that I was the scripted murderer and everything else was an aberration.
Also during high school the same teacher who did the plays volunteered me to a local amateur dramatics society because they needed another teenager to play one of the Chinese guys in Anything Goes (this was the 90s remember…). I got to perform for a week on the stage at Wimbledon Theatre which is an experience I’ll never forget as I spent every Christmas watching pantos there and had seen Jon Pertwee in The Ultimate Adventure on the same stage.
I also ran a drama group at my church and we put on loads of plays, some bought in, some written by me or my friend. Good times.
And since then, as a teacher, I’ve been instrumental in directing a load of plays and musicals with the kids in and I’m known for loving it (and being pretty good at it too, if I do say so myself 
)

In Matilda I was a dad, a teacher, someone who works for Mr Wormwood, a cook, and a member of the Russian Mafia.
In Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, I am Grandpa George(the bedridden one), doubling as an oompa loompa, a reporter, and a random person from Barvaria

The one play I was in was in school, when I was fairly young, and IIRC, I was one of the faeries in Midsummer Night’s Dream. Don’t remember it all other then that it happened…

I saw Kimberly Akimbo today. One of the best paced shows I’ve ever seen. Story had me in tears at times, and it was overall a lot of fun.

It seems Paddington the Musical is going to become a must-see. Paddington looks amazing.
Also, saw news today that Avenue Q is coming back the West End in March 2026 (at the Shaftesbury).

Looks like there an animated musical in the works called “Bad Fairies”. Seems like Cynthia Erivo, who played Elpheba in Wicked, was cast in it last month as Jayne Staplegun, and now Ncuti Gatwa’s been cast in it as well.
I also noticed the director was Megan Nicole Dong, who I’m familiar with as the creator of the weird and highly musical Centaurworld. Songwriters are Tony Marlow and Lucy Moss, who did Six: the Musical, collaborating with Isabel Summers from Florence + the Machine. Executive music producer is Ian Eisendrath, from KPop Demon Hunters?
