Tarkovsky, Agnes Varda, Jim Jarmusch, and Chantal Akerman to name four.
I love Agnès Varda too, other favorites are Richard Linklater, Jane Schoenbrun, and Wong Kar-wai,
The Before Trilogy is everything. I’ve got some Kar-wai films on my To Watch list. I think I’ve only seen one so far.
Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, James Cameron, Christopher Nolan, Denis Villeneuve, Yorgos Lanthimos, Robert Eggers.
Funny, but I don’t tend to think too strongly about directors—had to think about this.
David Lynch, absolutely! Love Ingmar Bergman, Fritz Lang, Krzysztof Kieślowski, and especially Jacques Tati.
Gosh.. that’s a good Question I think I will go now with some ‘basic’ Choices such as David lynch, Spielberg, Wes Anderson, Fritz Lang, James Whale and so on. I probably will get around to this Question in the Future when I finally get around to watch more films from certain ‘Blindspot’ Decades.
shit
There is another bad Hellboy Reboot!?
Oh, can’t we simply get the third Del Toro Hellboy Film, please?
I’m cleansing from the experience. Not seen this in years.
It’s Congo time!
“Amy good gorilla.”
Love this movie. One to watch knowing as little as possible.
Did a re-watch of Raw (2016) the other day. Interesting horror film, more along the gore lines. I do like this one.
Director Julia Ducournau’s follow up Titane is also really good.
Been on a Star Wars / George Lucas lately, so I’m planning to watch THX 1138 (1971) today.
The thing is that I tried to watch it before, but I couldn’t get into it. I hope this time I finish it.
THX 1138 is a gorgeous looking film. I really like the cinematography.
On this most glorious of days, sitting down to watch K9 - TimeQuake
Anyone seen that Doctor Who movie with that guy in it - I think it was one of the McGann brothers.
It absolutely sucks doesn’t it?
How did you get that one? Please share your experience in the K9 TimeQuake - Speculation topic
Ooh did you get the leaked DVD screener from the premier?
Here are photos from the K9: TimeQuake premier.
Currently showing Ingmar Bergman’s Autumn Sonata. I don’t know why, but for some reason his films never hold my attention (at least the few I’ve watched). The only film I can safely say I liked (and, in fact, I actually loved it) is one no one ever talks about! Brink of Life. On paper his style of writing should be up my alley, so I don’t mind giving him a ton of a chances.
EDIT: This one was fine, but, again, about 3/4 of the way in my attention started to wane (mainly because, for thirty minutes, it was nothing but two characters expressing their sorrows in a dark room).
