Most obscure Doctor Who (including EU content) fact(s) you know

Well if you’re a Time Lord you get uploaded to the Matrix. And last week I read a short trip where Heaven is a real place and Peri briefly died there. Probably a few more.

Wait, was that real?

I always thought that story was made up

I’ve seen it mentioned in a few places including the TARDIS wiki, so I assume it’s true!

Yea I’ve watched a interview where Tom mentions it

Reminds me of the story that JNT briefed Pat Godfrey to make a totally tasteless costume for the Sixth Doctor, and this happened:

The design process for the costume was especially arduous and went through several iterations. The design that finally won producer John Nathan-Turner’s approval was the result of extreme frustration on Godfrey’s part. Having been asked to make increasingly “tasteless” submissions, Godfrey finally created a look that she believed was so extreme that Nathan-Turner would find utterly unacceptable. Instead, Nathan-Turner greenlit the concept.

That reminded me of an iceberg I once saw, and did a load of research on one specific thing
Has anyone else every heard of Wallowing in Pessimisms Mire?
It was a Faction Paradox anthology release that was regarded as some of the best stuff from the franchise, but was retracted under mysterious circumstances
The story only gets crazier as authors who worked on it said it was a massive mistake and the regret it being considered, and some say it was a hoax altogether and never existed
Apparently only 7 paper copies were printed, one of the stories completely reveals who the enemy were, and a copy of the script for a BBV horror anthology of the book was stolen on the day of shooting and Bill Baggs was mugged
It’s most likely that this thing doesn’t exist and never has done, but it’s still really interesting to look into

No idea how well known this is, but I know that Weeping Angels, being creatures of perception, are skilled at creating psychic objects, similar to the psychic paper, including a letter that would appear to anyone that reads it as being in their handwriting.

In the Transformers comics there was a character called Death’s Head. In The Legacy of Unicron Death’s Head got thrown into a time portal, lucky they got rescued by the 7th doctor and had a couple of adventures together. In the end 7 left Death’s Head in the marvel universe

The Doctor referring to himself as “The Oncoming Storm” by the 9th Doctor was first given to him in the Wilderness Years novels “Love & War” and “Vampire Science.” I first came across it outside of the show myself when I was reading Vampire Science and mentally did the Leonardo DiCaprio meme.

My favorite lore addition from Vampire Science is that the TARDIS has a butterfly room where he just goes and sits amongst butterflies when resting and I reallllly want to see it on the show.

I did this too! It’s crazy to me that stuff like this didn’t actually come from NuWho. I love when the TV show references the EU, it’s means there is a higher chance we’ll get Benny on TV :star_struck:
