Congratulations, you did it!
Wait hang on, ■■■■ is censored on the forum but shit isn’t??
Welcome to the K9 Badge Club!
Thank you!
It’s great to be here!
Yes, yes, congratulations on surviving the experience and all that, but now I genuinely want to find out what word is hidden there!
The hidden word is F**k
To me, shit should not be hidden. In Swedish we use it to strengthen other words. Skitstark (shit strong) is something that is really strong. We even use it like this. Maten var skitgod. Translation the food was shit good!
I just rather arbitrarily decided to censor the worst language but don’t have a problem with “shit”.
I’m guessing you thought the last episode was shit then?
Aaaah, that makes sense! Well, that’s definitely a word that should be hidden.
The fun thing is that I actually don’t find “shit” to be a very bad word, so I understand that it isn’t censored. That’s probably because of the reason stated by Tian above. It’s just a more forceful way of saying “poop”
Fun fact: spoken Finnish also uses a crude word to strengthen something, but unlike Swedish, it’s not “shit” but the Finnish equivalent of the F-word, which I shall not write here, because you don’t have to learn how to swear in Finnish it starts with a V though and sounds almost like the Swedish vulgar F-word for vagina.
@JayPea’s closing statement: “But it’s still a bit shit”
What is acceptable as swearing is always interesting. I remember the first Harry Potter book rather liberally uses bloody and git which, for a kids book, is pretty strong.
It always amuses me when US stars go one shows like Graham Norton and are surprised they can say things like f**k and shit without getting in trouble. On UK TV it’s really only ■■■■ which gets censored still but even that is creeping in here and there.
You realise people can’t see what you wrote there lol
Obviously - I’m being discreet - I’m sure people can work it out.
I’m almost tempted to post the lyrics to Reggie Watts “■■■■ Shit Stack”, just to see what gets censored and what doesn’t…
What the ■■■■? How the ■■■■ am I supposed what that ■■■■■■■ says? I’m not that ■■■■■■■ clever! ■■■■ this! I’m done with this ■■■■■■■ ■■■■ of a ■■■■!
Edit: I made my own Choose Your Adventure! You can insert any words you wish into the blanked-out spaces above!
There are sections of that song I could post, mind.
I like women.
I like women.
I like the concept of a woman.
I like to take that concept and reduce it to an object.
I like to take those objects, and put them in my videos.
New article came out interviewing the voice actor for Doctor T’Ana, and she talks about swearing:
I find swearing – this is such a weird thing to say – delicious. I find it hilarious. I like how you can use it in an emphatic way to really get a point across. And I know that a lot of people would say it’s a sign that you are lacking in intelligence [or] that you don’t know how to express yourself any other way. And I say no. I love it. I’m expressing myself in multiple ways, but this is part of the rainbow of expletives that I would love to use when talking.
When I had the opportunity to audition for Doctor T’Ana, and they sort of said, ‘Go crazy, ride roughshod over it.’ I was like, ‘F yeah,’ and I really went for it in a way that was the most exciting thing I could possibly be doing. Whenever I record, I get to go bananas and do that. One of the things I’m gonna miss the most is saying the most filthy things that I know, sadly, that they have to bleep because if you heard what I said, I don’t know if I’d work again.
Yeah, coldstream already posted the closing statement, but for a bit more context
Eclipse of the Korven is K9 bearing it’s scars for all the world to see, for good, for ill, and it’s genuinely just a delight to watch.
But it’s still a bit shit, 5/10
I watched the first episode of K9 today and got sidetracked by your post. Now watching the third episode of The Girl from Tomorrow on YouTube
Ooh, I’ve never sought it out on Youtube but I might have to now. I loved that series!
Just watched ‘the other’ K9 Series (http://tardis.guide/story/a-girls-best-friend/). Quite liked it. A shame they didn’t produce more.
