God I really am close to the end now huh
When I finish I want to do a worldbuilding pitch of some kind for an alternate/future take on the world that K9 sets up

If I had more time I would be so tempted to do a K9 rewrite but make it actually good. Thereās so much potential in there
I probably wouldnāt do a rewrite, the main cast are fun for this show, but I think to fully explore the world Iād go a bit darker with it, and I wouldnāt want kids leading that
It looks like K-9 is available for free on my TVā¦
Should I?
Do it!
Sometime this week, I will begin my K-9 journey!
Iām excited but also scared. So very scaredā¦
Let us know what you think!!
And look forward to the badge!
Watched the trailer, and am now thinking:
Still going to do it though.
Itās mostly just kind of frustrating. As @JayPea and I were just saying, thereās such a good concept and world in there somewhere, but often itās potential that isnāt fully or even at all realised
Yeah itās not a bad show if you think of it as just a mediocre kidās show and switch your brain off, but when you think about the worldbuilding for more than a minute it becomes really interesting and kind of dark in some placesā¦
ā¦Except the writers didnāt think about the worldbuilding for more than a minute
Okay, this meme is getting out of hand! Itās been used multiple times already, but not once by me!
Welcome to the Dark Side: bad acting, Australians pretending to be British, inconsistent writing, one-dimensional characters, low production values. Itās horrible and frustrating, but oddly satisfying in the end, and youāll either turn mad or feel withdrawal symptoms after you finish the 26 episodes.
Both, surely? Iām still having both
Sure, you can have both if youāre so inclined
Oh, I see things are all starting to come together.
K9ās missing memories, the Jixen, Thorne putting Korven tech into machines, Dariusā dad, the head of The Department. Honestly all the moving parts of the story are just coming together quite nicely here.
The acting however continues to disappoint, we donāt get enough of June and Gryffen, and Thorneās acting here isnāt the greatest, thereās a line where heās meant to repeat a line with different emphasis, but seemingly just forgets to change the emphasis.
I do like Jixey though, the Jixen are one of the best costumes the showās got, and it was a real shame they hadnāt really come back until here, but hey, now they have, and theyāve got a big link to K9ās backstory that they can explain now theyāre able to talk.
The episode does end very abruptly though which is really weird, I was hoping for a talk with the Jixen and the gang, but nope, just cuts to a shot of Thorne, and then credits
So closeā¦
Badge imminentā¦
I know!!!
Just one more episode and then Iām finally freeeeee (I wonāt be able to stop thinking about worldbuilding for months)
I hope you are proud of yourself.
tone uncertain
Well, this is it, lets get started with the end then
A suitable end to the show.
I think Eclipse of the Korven is the most K9 episode of all the K9 episodes if that makes sense. Everything that makes K9 what it is is on display here in full effect.
K9 getting instantly demolished as soon as he gets into a fight, then being able to do something just in the nick of time to save the day. Half the cast not really getting anything to do for a lot of the story. The pointless romance story. A bunch of CCPCs being goofy. The Korven being set up as an incredible threat and then being taken down in seconds.
The great heartfelt moments that get a little undercut. The slightly janky but also still really good looking CGI. The genuinely great acting for Gryffen. The delightful villany of Thorne.
Eclipse of the Korven is K9 bearing itās scars for all the world to see, for good, for ill, and itās genuinely just a delight to watch.
But itās still a bit shit, 5/10
