I just discovered this website and forum and wanted to introduce myself. I’m excited to contribute to the Doctor Who related conversations with you all!
My favorite Doctors are 12, 7, 8 and 4 usually in that general order but it depends on my mood. My favorite companions are Jamie and K9. I’ve seen every episode at least once, most twice and the “best” ones more than that. I really like a lot of EU stuff — comics, Big Finish, and novels (EDAs in particular, which I’ve gathered might make me a little bit of an oddball?).
If I had to pick an all-time favorite DW story it would probably be Alien Bodies, if not just for its “uniqueness” and significance to the range. Others would include the Infinity Doctors, The Dark Path, Lungbarrow, Genesis of the Daleks, Pyramids of Mars, and Revelation of the Daleks (it’s hard to pick one!).
I’m an avid amateur astronomer and sci-fi nerd in general, but DW is the coolest of them all IMO!
I’m mostly looking forward to fun DW discussions, polls, etc. as well as learning about different EU and reference materials I don’t know about yet!

I’m reading through the EDAs atm, as are several others, and documenting it in this thread and I am enjoying them a lot overall! What are some of your favourite audios?
Hello and welcome! That’s a great selection of favourite Doctors (pretty much the same as mine actually, just substituting 2 for 7). Look forward to seeing you around here :D
I listen to the audios pretty sporadically, but off the top of my head the ones that stand out are Orbis, Human Resources, Colditz, Master, and I’m sure I’m forgetting some really good ones. I really liked the Lucy Miller series, I’ve had a more difficult time getting into other series and mostly listen to stories at random that seem interesting.
I love the BF audio dramas, but they’re a little expensive for what you get IMO, otherwise I would listen to a lot more of them.
You and I have similar interests, namely the Twelfth, Seventh, Fourth, K9, and the sciences. Also sounds like you’ve read some cool stuff, I look forward to seeing your input in threads.
As for reference materials, I love Doctor Who non-fiction! Be glad to discuss further sometime.
A few years ago I joined another DW forum (I can’t recall the name) and left it almost immediately. It was around the time the 13th Doctor was announced and I recall there was some horrible, bigoted comments and I was out of there in a hurry. Just recently I thought I should look for a different one, and came here via a Google search. After perusing a bit, you all don’t seem to be plagued by those toxic types of “fans” at all
Don’t worry, this is probably the most friendly DW community you could find. Honestly, I think it’s the first broadly positive fandom experience I’ve had[1].
