Hi. I’m Ivan, I found this site and made an account recently and have finally resolved to make an introductory post. Uh… I’m in my early 20s, autistic, work nights and I guess I’m technically goth but I’m also not, you know?
Other than Doctor Who I love music (my top 5 favorite bands are New Order, Einstürzende Neubauten, Cocteau Twins, Molchat Doma, and Neon Indian), I draw, I have a personal website, I like surreal films, and I’m slowly turning into an avid reader the more time I spend out of college.
My all-time favorite Doctor is 10, but I love 3, 4, and 12 quite a lot as well! They’re all the Doctor so I like all of them, though.
I’ve seen almost all of New Who and about half of Classic before. Over the last six months or so I’ve started trying to watch through all of it & read all the EDA novels, at least. I’ve been doing all that extremely out of order for no particular reason (I keep getting curious about Doctors I haven’t seen before and jumping back and forward!)
I took interest in this site cause it seemed like it would make it easier to keep track of my watch-through, since it’s gotten kind of difficult. I always love a good old-fashioned forum as well though! Hello! Happy to be here.
Fellow goth here, or as I would call myself in a mix of English and German, ‘Oldschool Grufti’. (Grufti is a German expression for goth.) I got into ‘the scene’ in the 90s but was always around people who were about 10 years older, which definitely led to the oldschool part.
Welcome Ivan. You will find that you are not the only neuro-atypical poster on here. For me, Doctor Who has always been a lifeline, a touchstone and a comfort. Look forwards to reading your contributions! Welcome aboard. Enjoy finding your way around. Don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions!
I hear you! I’m a bit different, I dress the part and listen to the music but I consider myself “not quite” just because I miss most local events due to work at the moment
