Hi, I’m Jack. I only properly started watching Who on the day that “The Reality War” was released . I had previously seen some Christmas Specials but honestly didn’t really remember them. I have now watched the whole of the revival, Torchwood, a few Sarah Jane Stories, and Classic Seasons 7-13. I’ve been rating stories on the site since I found out it existed last July but didn’t think about using the forum until today.
My favourite Doctor is 11, and Series 5 is my favourite of what I’ve seen. I know his era gets somewhat of a mixed reception these days, but this is the version of the show I love the most. This era is the show at it’s most ambitious, and while it didn’t always work; there’s no denying how entertaining it was either way.
Looking forward to using this forum, if you have any questions feel free to ask me stuff
Welcome to the forum, great to have you here! I’m always amazed when we get someone new joining who’s only gotten into the show in the last few years but has watched an absolutely absurd amount of the overall show, where do you guys find the time?!
How have you been finding Classic Who so far? Any particular favourite serials?
I’ve watched so much as I’m only 17 and finished my GCSE’s last summer so spent my long time off watching A LOT of Doctor Who (I did other things too of course ).
I’ve been loving Classic. I watch it much slower as that is how it was intended to be seen as the pacing is much slower. Inferno is my favourite serial so far, I just think it’s perfectly paced and the story is genuinely brilliant. Other ones I’ve loved are Daemons, Green Death, Genesis of the Daleks, Morbius, and Seeds of Doom. The whole show is very good though, and quite comforting
Thank you! As a group, I think 11, Amy, Rory, and River make up some of the best on screen chemistry on the show. Amy’s arc is quite nice to watch as she becomes a much better person than she was at the beginning of S5. However, I love Rose, Donna and Clara as well!
