Hi all! Happy to be here

Found this website today, and OH MY GOD I’m gonna live here.

Apart from that, I currently live in the UK, Wales, but I’m from Ukraine originally. I grew up watching Doctor Who, which became the core of my life philosophy and the reason behind so many life choices.

While I’m in the UK, I say that meeting all Doctor Who actors is my sacred quest on British lands, so I do my best to get into all possible comic cons, theatre shows, etc.

Very upset about the cancelled Christmas special, but oh well. That was the reason why I decided to look around and expand my DW-universe to audio dramas, especially now that we have Christopher Eccleston ones (that’s where I started).

The audio drama world is overwhelmingly big, so I was trying to figure out how to approach it, and that’s how I came across this website. It’s overwhelmingly big as well, but still makes the task of navigating the universe easier (probably as easy as it can be)!

I feel humiliated by the fact that after I ticked off the stuff that I watched, I only have 3% of completed content (ok, it should be slightly bigger because I was too lazy to tick all the old episodes that I watched, but it probably wouldn’t change the whole picture that much anyway). On the other hand, there’s 97% of stuff that I still haven’t seen, and that’s absolutely amazing.

My other hobby is writing, and I’m developing my English language skills to be able to write some DW fanfiction as I have a few ambitious ideas, and then, who knows…

But first I’ll rewatch all the episodes again because… does it need a reason?

My favourite Doctor is Peter Capaldi, my favourite character is Missy, and my favourite actor among the ones I’ve seen in person is Sylvester McCoy (oh my god THE ENERGY).

Thank you! To be honest, I’ve googled so much today that this information was lost in the vortex. I think someone mentioned it on Reddit, and I went to explore, and suddenly half of my day disappeared. Must be real time travel.

Thank you :) I think Clara is my favourite, actually! And then Donna and Sarah Jane.

Thank you for the hint, that tag will be very useful for me!

It’s great to have you here with us. While it is unfortunate with the Christmas special, I hope that you’ll find plenty of new Doctor Who content through the site and forum.

By the way, we share the exact same favorite characters! Sylvester McCoy and Peter Capaldi are well beloved here.

Hello @tardis2snej! It’s lovely to meet you. We have two guests from Ukraine living with us, neither of who I could get interested in Doctor Who, despite my best attempts!

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your rewatch!

Aw thank you for supporting my fellow Ukrainians! Doctor Who is not very famous in Ukraine, but I managed to get a few of my friends into it. It took… patience and a few years. My go-to strategy is to figure out what the person normally watches and try to show them the episode that is as close to it as possible :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

When I came to the UK, I was already a hardcore fan, and I was extremely lucky to live in the house where the question “Are we watching Doctor Who?” didn’t exist; instead, we always had “What episode are we going to watch?”

I watched Torchwood for the first time then, and it went surprisingly well because I was in a rather dark state of mind, and Torchwood deals with heavy topics instead of trying to avoid them or keep it cheerful, so that sort of allowed me to process some things. But that’s probably not a typical approach!

Welcome in!
It’s pretty easy to get overwhelmed at first, but by using the “sets” feature I find it much easier to stay within certain areas of the franchise and complete those… not that I always stick to the same things, of course!
Hope you enjoy your time here.
