Just read the Captain Jack story before bed last night. Found it to be okay. It feels like this collection never ends .

One thing I thought was interesting when reading @JayPea’s review:

You write that you thought it was during mid-Torchwood. I thought that it is set much later in his life. I think that the “best friend” is what gives him the powers that transform Jack into the Face of Boe. You probably don’t remember this story, but I thought it was interesting that we interpreted it differently.

I could see that!

I mainly thought it was during his time working for Torchwood because of when and where it’s set, but we’ve seen him with time travel a fair bit post Torchwood, so that could absolutely make sense too!
