I’ve missed these games.
@lucastrask’s world/planet game is my first, tentative step into the traditional format. I like the time limit because it forces you to contemplate your choice, be absolutely confident in it, before pushing the button.
I found the procedure for editing your post, but what if someone votes while you’re about to, and you don’t realize? That nearly happened to me today.
Tactics can also come into play. You can’t post again until 20 hours later, but that’s only a minimum. Some will wait even longer to see what plays out, maybe wait for a story to be knocked down another point or two. It can be more fun and intense, I think.
If that happens, you can always comment here and ask the next person to correct any votes that might have gone wrong. Moderators can also do this, as they are not limited by the time limit.
a la The Hunger Games, here are the first day’s eliminated stories in order:
Wish World / The Reality War
The Web Planet
Joy to the World
The Pyramid at the End of the World
Underworld
Planet of the Dead
Oh that surprised me! I really enjoyed this trilogy upon recent rewatch.
I think @spaghetti was supposed to eliminate Planet of the Spiders (did -1, not -2)
They took Planet of the Daleks down by 2, and added 1 to Planet of the Spiders ![]()
Oh. I guess I’m just hot and tired. ![]()
It’s a good reminder to double check votes, especially when some titles are basically the same! ![]()
i quote tv burp so often ![]()
@George_Petroc should have dropped The End of the World down to five. Could a mod, or the next voter, change it from the current 6 to the correct 5? Thank you.
Still don’t understand some of you lot. The Impossible Planet/Satan Pit is astonishingly good Doctor Who. Get a grip people!
I not sure, but I think it has something to do with this thing called strategy.
A strategy to demonstrate how wrong your opinions are is a very odd strategy…

This is a bloodbath. At least some others have gone before it. Not sure what the strategy is beyond “get all the good ones out so a mediocre one can win” ![]()
With Web Planet out and everyone voting for World Enough, this definitely looks like the strategy…
This game has been sorta fun but it’s made me realise I much prefer other variations of it. It gets boring when stuff just gets piled on. This game also doesn’t really invite much discussion, the way other styles of games do. Ah well.
'Tis only a game! (of Rassilon)
Impossible/Satan is alright, but it pales in comparison with World Enough, which, without being hyperbolic, is the earthly manifestation of Christ in Doctor Who form.
(Genuinely, I believe it’s a level of quality which is only really matched by The Caves of Androzani and Heaven Sent)
