Yeah good luck getting rid of that one :squinting_face_with_tongue::squinting_face_with_tongue: You’ll be listening to all sorts of pointless releases for him next!

First 3 parts of Intervention Earth at lunch (didn’t have time for all 4). Did NOT expect the format change or the time skip? I think? It’s so unclear :eyes:

But absolutely loving it wow!!!

IE is like a sort of alternate world where Romana III is the boss - it makes a lot more sense when you get to the end of Enemy Lines why it’s so suddenly just different, but despite being a bit confusing, it is a good story

Oh I wasn’t sure if time skip or AU, I was expecting it to come up within the next couple stories though! Just wasn’t sure if it’d be explained or not so didn’t wanna Google in case it counted as spoilers

It’s a bit of a weird story but it definitely is two parts with Enemy Lines, and all the weirdness does get explained you just kind of have to be paying attention (it took me several listens to really comprehend it so you’re not alone in your confusion!)

I’ve relistened to Renaissance again and I think this one is in my top 5 of Gallifrey stories actually. I’m obsessed with how ominous Trey is in the scene where the ambassador dies, and how both her and Romana want each other exiled. Also THAT scene between Leela and Romana ‘she is quicksilver. I prefer steel’ is one of my favourites ever

Been listening to Series 5 lately. I’m in the middle of Arbitration (5.3) and hear Leela say this: I have often said, Narvin, that one day if you are not careful, you will destroy the universe by making a mistake. That hits so much harder knowing what he does in Series 6.

I’ll open up by saying I loved Intervention Earth. Hearing what’s ostensibly a normal Doctor Who adventure, but with the Gallifrey cast and Narvin essentially as our good ol’ Professor Doccy Why is great! Trey is delightful and that voice still soothes me and Landau’s performance is still incredible! Especially when you can tell she’s lying about coming back to get Lukas. Love having Ace here! And oh Omega my beloved! The twists and turns !! The ending !!! I thought the good guys would win !!!

Sadly uh. While I loved it, it’s nowhere near a 5 star for me for one simple reason: Why have Ace if you’re gonna underuse her? She’s the main character for part 1 which is great, but then she’s off screen all of part 2, hypnotised in part 3 and then has absolutely nothing to do in the final part. Just frustrating that the most kickass TV companion is reduced to being a damsel in distress, even if she doesn’t act like one! I’m hoping she has more to do in Enemy Lines, but obviously nobody confirm or deny please.

Also much more minor but it bums me out they brought back Omega’s original actor, whose voice is AMAZING for audio, then get rid of him for someone less commanding a presence almost immediately…

4 stars but considering it was a 5 for me for most of it, it’s a very frustrating 4.

EDIT: One day I’ll remember I can’t break up spoilers without breaking them :sob:

Narvin being world’s most useless spy is soooo important to me <3

But everything you say is totally bang on, it’s why IE/EL took a while to grow on me and even now I think EL is the stronger part of the equation. I appreciate IE for its good bits but it’ll never be a favourite of mine

Enemy Lines spoilers!!! You are going to be sooo sad after saying ‘I hope they do more with Ace’ after listening to EL and TW… before I listened to Gally I thought Ace was a major character in TW… lol! And this is why I NEEEEEED the Narvin&Ace CIA adventures spinoff set!!!

Looking forward to/dreading on clicking that after the weekend :eyes::sob:

Will say that I love how it took until halfway through series 2 to give a single sh*t about Brax but now every time he appears I genuinely feel the most excited I possibly can

Brax is such an interesting character and I swear he always shows up when you least expect

Yet another thing we agree on! I’ll never be the biggest Brax fan but it is exciting when he pops up from time to time (and oh boyyy is Soldier Obscura going to get you!!!)

Also don’t forget to listen to Erasure after EL! It’s not at all plot relevant but as a Narvin convert it will do something irreversible to your brain <3

Stop getting me more excited for future Gallifrey stuff! I have other sets to listen to too I can’t only be a Gallifrey girlie exclusively !!!

skill issue. give up brax’s [redacted] and focus on the people who really matter. (exceptions can be made for counter measures only)
