Oh I heard all of those years ago but I must say I remember very little about them…
Veklin plays an especially large part in the first Hurt set Only the Monstrous.
I’ve only got Transference and Ambition’s Debt left before joining the excessively long wait for the next season
Really looking forward to those now
I will look out for Veklin
I think I must go for Susan’s War soon, if not for Veklin then for more of Cardinal Rasmus
Just did a search for Veklin using this Guide to the TARDIS, I can see there’s quite a lot I haven’t heard with her.
Susan’s War, War Doctor Begins, Doom Coalition…
There is so much stuff I would like to listen to!
I think the very first time she was in an audio was an early DC one, but she’s very good in the War Doctor releases. There’s always more BF than one has time for!
Just listened to “Transference” from War Room 2.
That was intense! And emotional!
Narvin You do not deserve to go through all this!
5/5 for a fantastic script with even better performances!
Ough that one wreckedddddd me - so so good but SO devastating
and yay you’re almost caught up!! Just a year to go until WR3 now!
Ambition’s Debt.
Wow. Just wow.
I don’t know how I’ll wait for a whole year to hear what happens next!!!
Ollistra you b***h!
I can’t wait to see how this situation will be resolved.
Cardinal Rasmus is a new favourite of mine, Ken Bones’ General is awesome, Eris is pretty good and I feel like Veklin is heading in the direction of a “redemption arc”.
And above all, Narvin the Resistance Fighter and Leela the Reluctant and Forced Operative of Ollistra’s War Room.
5/5 and a
from me
War Room is a fantastic direction for Gallifrey!
LITERALLY screamed so much after Ambition’s Debt… oh my goddddd… “A disobedient dog is of no use to me” you can’t SAY things like thatttttttt
Ollistra is so fabulous and the way her scheme is coming to a head… and Clemantia being her cousin EXPLODED my head and the way Narvin is SO SAD and dejected at the end and the way Leela is sooooo trapped and !!!
I hope you understand a little why I’m compelled by Veklin now after that, I also think she’s heading towards some sort of redemption but I would absolutely love it if she and Ollistra both destroyed each other in a terrible way <3
One more year… but it’s okay! we’re getting Romana back!
Oh Veklin has to be the one to pull the trigger on Ollistra! I could totally see it being the “heroic sacrifice” so to speak (ala my beloved Lucie Bleedin’ Miller )
My money is on Romana coming back via Brax ex Machina No, I want Leela and Narvin to be there to save Romana
That “disobedient dog” moment is the exact moment everything changes for Veklin - you can feel her rethinking her entire life, all her choices, everything. Veklin totally breaks at that moment and I look forward to the fallout
If we get another Brax ex Machina I will laugh and laugh and laugh - I’m still lowkey hoping that if we don’t get Lalla back, then at least we’ll have Juliet Landau as Romana iii. I just need Romana back… And I honestly think WR will be worse for not having her, because there’s only so much ‘Leela’s bound to the war room because of Romana’ we can do before it gets a bit tired.
But I am excited to see Ollistra’s schemes come to a head and I am excited for Veklin to have her glorious moment, even if it destroys her (though how this all fits in with the War Doctor timeline is very unclear to me now)
And yes, I have seen that before but it is always a delight to see Alyona’s art again <33
War Room didn’t appeal to me when it was announced (and I haven’t even listened to the Gallifrey Time War yet) but @BillFiler’s reviews are piquing my interest!
The Time War seasons are a bit of a mixed bag, it kind of feels like there lacked a decided “Gallifrey” spin on the Time War.
War Room is just that. You got the intrigue, the scheming politics, and the amazing character moments. And some really great additions to the main cast (Ken Bones’ voice was just made for this)
It is very “Gallifrey” in it’s bones, and I love that about it
I’ll definitely recommend it
As I’ve said elsewhere - you lot are going to bankrupt me and possibly contribute to my divorce. I’ve already had to explain the three books that turned up this week (although she didn’t notice the Eleven/Valarie box set because I put that upstairs before she noticed ).
Gallifrey has watched over the universe since the dawn of time – and, at Big Finish Productions, since 2004. The audio drama range following intrigue and adventure on the Doctor’s homeworld is now twenty years old.
Marking the occasion is Echoes Through Eternity, a collection of four brand-new stories, in the style of Big Finish’s Short Trips. These tales are set across the timeline of the Gallifrey range and feature some of its most iconic characters.
The set includes two stories by Gary Russell, the range’s original creator. Both follow Celestial Intervention Agency Coordinator Narvin and are read by Seán Carlsen. The other two stories focus on the characters of Braxiatel and Ace, with their original voice actors Miles Richardson and Sophie Aldred reading.
Damned If You Do by Gary Russell, read by Seán Carlsen
CIA Coordinator Narvin is unwillingly called upon to find some lost students – aliens admitted to the hallowed Academy. But when Narvin and Cadet Kransa enter the Catacombs, nothing will be the same…
The Questing Beast by Fio Trethewey & Georgia Cook, read by Miles Richardson
Battling the Lord Burner, Braxiatel is separated from his friends as they fall through a multitude of alternative Gallifreys. He arrives in a realm where science is magic and there is a Dragon to be slain…
In Search of Lost Time by Una McCormack, read by Sophie Aldred
Old Time Agents never die – they just lose their memories. Back on Earth after her involvement in the Time War, Ace is having trouble fitting in – and coincidence seems to be following her…
Damned If You Don’t by Gary Russell, read by Seán Carlsen
As the Time War rages, Narvin is at the heart of the action – but he has lost so much, he may not have the will to carry on. Until his past returns to haunt him…
Cue the disappointment when the reality hits: they are Short Trips rather than full-cast audios…
