Gallifrey one 2025

To be fair, how much of that goes to the guest vs whatever cut the con and such get? And you get a signed copy of the script too.

Yeah of course. I was only joking.

A shame the Jenna Coleman script reading is on the Sunday. Probably won’t have time to get it also signed by Steven Moffat, should it be one he wrote. (I got it, thanks grandma for the Christmas cash)

Check out the Sirens of Audio podcast, they’re based in Australia and focus mostly on audio Who, but their episodes often feature interviews with various writers and cast members. They’ve also done a lot of live events with people like Janet Fielding and Sophie Aldred. Looks like the next one is in March with Matthew Waterhouse. (@Daximili this might be your chance.)

Ooh somehow I hadn’t even thought until you said this about the fact that I could have Colin also sign the script after the reading (assuming it’s one of his stories and I still have time to at least). This might change my budget math a bit…

Got my ribbons!

I went to a con near me two years ago (no Doctor Who actors that year, but they had Star Trek actors including Brent Spiner, so that was quite exciting). I cosplayed as Sarah Jane Smith from The Sontaran Experiment (which is to say, I bought a rainsuit from the hardware store, and wore a gray beanie, and tried my best). It was fun to see some other people there who were in Star Trek and Doctor Who cosplay (I found a man dressed as the Fourth Doctor to take a picture with me). I dragged my non-nerdy friend along with me, so it was fun to have his outsider’s perspective.
I haven’t been to another con since then (although I did have a good time, I just don’t have transport/funds/time) Although the big name cons sound exciting, it might make more sense to try out some smaller/lesser known cons that are nearer to you to see if you like it. It would be a shame to spend a bunch of money on an international trip and expensive con tickets only to find out you are not a con person. Some of us dream of going to the UK for a Doctor Who con, you know… Anyway, hope the Gallifrey One people have loads of fun at LAX!

Looks like a nice souvenir. Would you mind explaining the ribbons for the uninitiated?

Basically people just get fun ribbons printed to hand out/trade to other people Badge Ribbons | Gallifrey One 2025

A lot of people are happy to just hand them out. I don’t do my own, but I tend to get quite a few anyway.

Wish I could go, but living in the middle of England has its cons, also I went to the Stuff Of Legend last year so I wouldn’t be able to go probably even if I didn’t live in the UK (which is where I was introduced to Tardis Guide)
