Growing leather that doesn’t involve actually killing animals is cool. The fact that it’s from a T-Rex seems a little gimmicky, but if it gets them funding…
Of course, with tech for growing leather, I would kinda prefer they focus on affordable rather then luxury. There’s room for both, though.
That feeling when it’s 1:00 a.m. and you’re writing the conclusion to a paper you’ve been working on since 1:00 p.m. (tomorrow is going to be rough).
Unfortunately, it’s the rich people with more money than sense who are willing to throw unreasonable amounts of cash at developing products, while people with less money are usually smarter about their spendings. Luckily, these things usually trickle down in price as companies try to cut manufacturing cost while also trying to expand their market demographics.
Definitely growing cruelty-free leather instead of killing billions of animals every year is better in my view!
But I’m not sure if this process still uses all the toxic chemicals that normal leather does.
