No idea if this has already been made as a topic but here goes anyway!
If you could draw up a top 5 favourite companions, who would be in there and why? Who just misses out?
I think mine would probably be (in no particular order): Zoe, Romana, Evelyn, Victoria and Nyssa
Its a super tricky question, and one that has changed and will continue to change over time. At this current moment in time however, I’d say Liv Chenka, Donna Noble, Clara Oswald, Sarah-Jane Smith and Nyssa.
Closely followed by Helen Sinclair, Jo Grant, Liz Shaw, Leela, Romana and Valarie Lockwood.
If you ask me again in a months time I’ll probably have a different answer 
It also depends too as I hear more EU content of the classic companions I like them more, and more, and more!

Evelyn, Nyssa, Rory, Charley, Barbara
Just missing out Valarie (only because I’ve yet to finish her stories), Ian, Vicki, Jamie, Liz, Mel, Erimem, Constance, Frobisher, oh blimey - most of them!
Lovely Idea! Always having a hard Time to point to five, but I think my Top 5 would be Barbara, Zoe, Liz, Romana & Ace. A few have missed out such as Leela, Jo, Sarah (honestly at days they could be my fifth spot instead of Liz), Tegan, Donna and clara. And yes, I love too many Companions I am not sure with EU ones, considering I am much less familiar with a lot of them, although there are quite a few brilliant ones such as Fitz, Anji, Liv etc.

Well, my absolute favourites are, to no one’s surprise, Romana and Leela. I could sing their praises for hours but I’ll spare you all that here. Just know that I adore them. They are followed by Ace, who has a solid spot in my top three. After that it gets a bit more changing, but today I’ll give it to Jo and Sarah
Oh yeah, Liv - forgot Liv!
And Leela.
Actually it would probably be easier to list my five least favourite companions!

Sarah, Leela, Lucie, Bill… aggg picking a fifth is so hard even excluding EU characters… Ace. I think I have to say Ace.

I like SJ, Romana II, Rose, Ruby, Mel, Donna, and Clara.
