Also this is a funny point that I can’t tell him yet due to spoilers but someone suggested a ā€œThe Raniā€ badge and said to make it live after this series is done, deltaandthebannermen (don’t tag him, he’s watching later) later suggested an ā€œOmegaā€ badge and, knowing the leaks, I had to stop myself from saying ā€œbetter wait til after Season Two as well!ā€

I feel so happy that I managed to avoid spoilers for the Omega reveal… although, like with the Rani’s, I’d probably be on-board with it regardless. I don’t care how or why they’re coming back, I get to see my all-time favourite Time Lord villain again.

I’m not sure it’s that much of a Rani scheme but it is an experiment (which we may get motive for next week) that has collateral damage she just doesn’t care about, which is very her.

I did really like her line about not really being an enemy because death wasn’t something she was specifically out to cause.

Which is true, it just kind of happens and she’s not bothered about it, even if she’s the cause.

The line, ā€œI’m about life,ā€ or something similar wasn’t quite accurate though, but I appreciated the distinction that she’s scientifically curious and doesn’t give a hoot about collateral rather than wants to cause death and destruction.

That moment was Accountant 2 levels of ā€œhe a little confused but he got the spiritā€ when it comes to disability. Like… so goofy, but I just can’t help but love it to pieces.

Well, I think that Wish World had some sort of fluke that actually created Poppy to be a daughter for the Doctor and Belinda to take care off, maybe she’s half human, half Time Lord, and they use her energy for something? Maybe she’s just human and the Doctor ends up taking her to the Space Babies ship before he and Belinda went there?

No clue.

I’m intrigued by the use of Big Finish lines instead of new ones, I’m wondering will we even see him next week or is it just a plan that won’t mount to anything?

Not at all sure what to think here. I think the dystopian setting was well realised and there’s tonnes of intrigue, with great performances but hmm. I enjoyed it but I was really really into Legend of Ruby Sunday and its building tension whereas something about this didn’t hook me the same way?

Something that I know does annoy me is that The Rani is exactly what I feared: she’s just The Master again. Panjabi puts in an incredible performance but the way she’s written just feels so off to me. I was praying that we’d get Panjabi’s as stoic, and Dobson’s as camp and if anything we almost got the other way round? (Though Dobson’s still wasn’t stoic either…) Like for a scientist who just wants to be let alone to do whatever she wants scientifically, she seems to be enjoying this all a little too much… Why the dancing? Why the flirting? It all just feels too NuWho Masterly too me. EDIT: Just scrolled up and do agree though with Chris that the whole not caring about death bit was great though

I’m very excited at Omega in that I loooove him, but I’m also super nervous that we might just have too much going on what with a God of Wishes, Omega, and two Ranis. Plus, I’m very curious as to why would The Rani even want him back?

I’m hoping my characterisation issues are resolved next week. Everything else… I need a bit more thinking before I rate and write a review
