A world where doubt is a thoughtcrime, and the people are kept happy and distracted by the many adventures of a man called The Doctor.
I guess we now know how much The Natural History Of Fear needed to be sanded down to become an actual TV story.

There is a lot going on here but for me it all felt like it contributed, which is rare.
With certain things teased here I think thereâll be even more next week which threatens to flatten the story under the weight of everything but I think weâve arrived at this point far more organically and satisfyingly than last yearâs finale.
I like how the episode âbreathedâ. A lot going on but I appreciated (oh boy did I appreciate) how it didnât rush. Whether or not the planet really gets destroyed is a moot point, we knew it wouldnât really get destroyed since it got teased in Episode 1 so itâs destruction here doesnât bother me, we knew it was coming as a problem for the Doctor to solve.
As usual, I may be in the minority but for once itâs nice to be in the minority for actually liking it. So Iâm pleased as punch.
At least its a better part 1 than The End of Time for me ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Not sure how I feel about the Harry Potter typefaceâŚ
One thing I think needed a bit more weight or focus was the underground group with Shirley and co. Itâs a nice concept that they go unseen, but convenient. Wouldnât the Rani be aware of these groups? And then Shirley just produced a UNIT iPad as a ârelicâ of the âother worldâ out of nowhere. Some of that stuff just felt a bit too easy and convenient.
I. Loved. That!!!
It tickled me pink all the way through.
It is such a Rani scheme!
I canât wait for the conclusion next week!
Is the story a bit of a mess? Maybe a bit, but in the same vein as âThe Power of the Doctorâ is - even down to the Disco ball and the villain dancing!
All of RTD2 is a crazy nostalgia fest, and I know that is not everyoneâs thing, but it works for me gloriously these days.
âThis is not just expositionâ - such a good line
I have no negatives - and I love not having been spoiled about a single thing here
Omega, Ranis, Susan, The Doctor, a toothy Master - are we finally seeing the end of Last of the Time Lords shtick?
Rogue??? Did not see that comingâŚ
Is Poppy Susanâs mother?
Also, not sure who said it, but someone said that Shirley keeps having her disability discriminated against and they hope it doesnât happen this episode.
Sorry, it happened, but on a bigger scale lol.
(Although I really liked the camp of âmisfitsâ who Conrad canât see, that was good!)
I think itâs perfect given how bigoted Conradâs world is, perfectly matches the author .
Yeah, that scene in the camp I did really like. That, plus the idea of the mugs to represent the growing doubt (The bins filled with shattered pieces) were my highlights of the episode.
I really liked it too, dont have much complaints, maybe i just wanted to see more of The Rani.
I kinda like it because it shows that despite society (both Conradâs and our own) treating disabled people as if theyâre worthless, they can still do amazing things (although they didnât actually do anything, Iâm just assuming they will next episode).
But yes, I agree with the sentiment that Shirley constantly having her disability being discriminated against is real bad, she really needs more scenes that donât involve her disability.
I can kind of get behind the Raniâs plan here, as constructing this whole Wish World as a trap for the Doctor as part of an even greater scheme just screams âmad science experimentâ, which fits her.
Making her the Doctorâs ex(?), though, not so much.
The Master is gunna be p!ssed when he finds out.
If it helps add to the doubt, which she claims she needed for the plan to work, then I reckon she turned a blind eye to them? I didnât really feel like there was anything here any more convenient than usual in Doctor Who plot progression.
I really liked how this one was set up and almost luxuriated for much of its runtime in the world it created.
Really didnât expect to like this one so much.
Oh my word, what if Poppy is Susanâs mother and also the daughter of the Doctor and the Rani???
Does the Rani even pay attention to what is happening on the Earth, outside an incredibly wide view. To me the Rani comes off as a top level manager, listens to reports from underlings but rarely goes into the trenches herself.
I could almost feel an aneurysm from reading that. I can get behind Lungbarrow and the Timeless Child simultaneously, but this is going too far.
I would absolutely love that!!
I am here for the crazy
I canât really remember much of the Rani, need to rewatch her stories but I have a question:
Why would she be interested in bringing Omega back?
I also need to rewatch his stuff.
This is just RTD wanting to get us watching Classic Who isnât it?
I am in love with the Rani and itâs all Archie Punjabiâs fault
