You’ve betrayed the babies… The space babies…
I still enjoy Space Babies, but as a new companion introduction I think it was a bit too by-the-numbers and rushed.
And sorry but I think Bill > Ruby.
I mean, Bill > Ruby goes without saying, I would think…
But isn’t Church on Ruby Road the companion introduction. Space Babies is just her first trip in the TARDIS.
Church on Ruby Road was a special, though, and you can’t guarantee if people watched a special, so Space Babies is also her introduction episode.
Well I was kinda talking about Episode Ones
Probably why they kept so much of the explanations for Space Babies! I hadn’t thought of it that way.
I still really dislike that though, and the ending of TCORR too I disliked with how abrupt it was and just the lack of any explanations leaving Space Babies to deal with so much exposition.
If Ruby Road was intended to be skippable, it sure does do a lot of required backstory for Ruby, and important things for the finale. Are that many people really missing specials?
The episode numbering consistency is amazing in the RTD2 era
I would say Bill=Ruby
Bill has a character at least, that helps. Ruby is just there, along for the ride, and makes it snow sometimes. She’s not unenjoyable, but I certainly don’t feel she’s interesting.
Any companion (yes even Adric) > Ruby.
You’re the one who said ‘companion introduction’ not me…
Thanks friend
Don’t know if I’d go that far, but I don’t think she’d be in my top ten…
Well I started to write ‘series opener’ but I knew someone would point out Spyfall and I didn’t want to go into that, so I went with “companion introduction” and here we are!
Ruby is good, fun, and bubbly, but also she’s a very safe companion, which I think limits the heights she can reach. I look forward to seeing how she does in future episodes though, especially away from the Doctor.
Yeah Ruby was best when she was on her own in 73 Yards.
I see no lie here
They are very much about equal for me as well
