Literally we verify you. It isn’t automated. Every time I see an introduction post, I check and see if the person posting it is verified or not and hit the verification button if they aren’t, basically.

For me, this episode was fine as I stated somewhere up above. It’s a perfectly servicable episode of Doctor Who. There were some potentially interesting ideas, some decent visuals, I appreciate that it’s got a ton of practical effects and isn’t all CGI. I agree that Varada is highlight and I’m interested in where the season arc is going. That said, I agree that this episode feels a bit rushed. For me, it doesn’t stick in the mind or stand out super well. My thoughts when I stop to think about it are: ā€œWell, that was an episode of Doctor Who.ā€ At the moment, I’m much interested in next week’s episode.

Almost exactly what my friend and I were saying earlier - it was a lot of fun and perfectly enjoyable, but not one of those greats that keeps you up at night thinking about it

Found something interesting on the wiki page where it compares the episode to Evening’s Empire Ā· Doctor Who Magazine Comics Ā· TARDIS Guide.

In many ways, this story shares thematic and conceptual parallels to COMIC: Evening’s Empire. In both stories, a young, misogynistic male finds himself in a world under his control, playing god with the lives of men and subjugating women. However, unlike Evening’s Empire, The Robot Revolution does not explore the root of the antagonist’s psyche — Alex Evening is shown to abuse people as he himself is abused by his deeply religious mother, while Alan Budd is portrayed in a less nuanced and more comical fashion.

I’m not the only one doing that, mind. Everyone on the staff can do verifications.

But I’ve done a fair number of them, including yours.

How do you check?

Well, I check by pulling up your badges in the admin section and looking by the badge to see who added it. Yours was added by shauny.

Don’t know if there’s any way for a non admin to check or not.

Wow. Shauny himself.

Yep, shauny does a number of them. It can pretty much be anyone on staff, though, and some of them just say ā€œtardis.guideā€. Probably older ones. I’m assuming it was automated for some period…

I have data that suggests only 27.1% of fans can name what episode twirly appears in when shown a screenshot of him.

I agree the pacing was a bit rushed, but I thought it was otherwise solid. I really like how different to Ruby Belinda is (and how fleshed out she feels already), and it’s been a long while since we had a companion that wasn’t enthusiastic about traveling. Also, though the man-behind-the-bot reveal wasn’t what I was expecting or hoping for through most of the episode, I decided I like it in a ā€œtech isn’t our enemy but the entitled guys controlling it areā€ sort of way. Some of the details were cool, like a random discussion about alien biology and Belinda taking things into her own hands withought saying anything first. I’m also SO intrigued for the mystery of this season, much more so than I was about Ruby’s season.
Plus I cannot stop saying polish polish

I like the episode. It’s a great start to the season. Belinda is set up as an interesting companion. I didn’t get the ā€œRuby doesn’t challenge the Doctorā€ viewpoint but after seeing Belinda do it I see it. The Robots are good. I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t love the polish bot. It’s just a minor character to me. I like that Belinda doesn’t want to be a companion and I’m interested to see how that plays out. I agree with @Meara about the Doctor crying when his friend died. My first thought was also that some people would be mad at that. Same thing happened when the Doctor scanned Belinda at the end thinking that people are going to think she’s similar to Clara or Ruby. Not sure how I feel about that in general to be honest.
