I just hope Big Finnish will do something with Panjabi’s Rani. She was in what 15 minites tops this episode and has to be the best bit (that and 13 my beloved).

Genuinely interested to see whether the next DWM will proclaim “Billie Piper is The Doctor!” or not.

I stopped questioning why because it made the episode better for me :sob:

“The real children were the friends you made along the way” feels comical.

Maybe the real Doctor Who was the friends we made along the way :eyes:

Would be fun if they went with “BILLIE PIPER IS THE DOCTOR…?”

Saying this as a huge 13 fan…why was she there? I can’t remember what she did, or what her conversation with 15 was about, there was literally no reason for it (although without her, I would have hated the episode more)

Just wanted to say that I genuinely feel awful feeling this negative. I love Doctor Who and I want to love Doctor Who. So having an episode annoy me this much really sucks

A better question is why not tbh. It was a fun and powerful moment that worked well.

To be fair, we do know that Doctor Who makes tons of money for the BBC through merchandising and so on, so I think they would have more incentive to try and make any hiatus temporary than they did in 1989. I fully agree that I don’t want a hiatus, but a mini-break of two or three years, to allow a brand new creative team to come in and take the time to develop something fresh and new? That would be no bad thing in my eyes. I think a big part of Doctor Who’s issues these days is that the show has been around continuously for 20 years now, which makes it a very known quantity - a few years out of the public eye ahead of a bold relaunch could build that anticipation up a bit again. That’s exactly what happened in 2005 after all!

I am agree with everything you’ve said about the episode, and I agree with you about this too. I love Doctor who, I don’t wanna be hating it like this!!!

Well can I just say I enjoyed it? I watched both parts for the first time in the cinema (in Brighton) and found it an enjoyable experience. I liked having the 13th Doctor back. Obviously I’m sure it doesn’t all make sense but, just based on my own experience, I overall enjoyed it. Maybe I’ll consider it otherwise soon…
