Seems like we’ve got some VANDALS here attacking Heaven Sent, but if we are talking about direction, that may be Rachel’s finest work. On the other hand, Hell Bent is kind of bad IMO.

Yeah nah, Heaven Sent isn’t getting out before The Star Beast, which has some absolutely cringeworthy writing that was definitely not run past a trans sensitivity writer. Not to mention not particularly noteworthy direction-wise.
Also, if we’re focusing on the fact that Rachel Talalay directed these episodes, should we not also rank them more on direction more than anything else? Which in the that case, Heaven Sent absolutely blows the rest out of the water. The Shepherd’s Boy montage?? Cinnamon Topography™️

Directing the puppetry in Star Beast was probably hard, but ultimately I feel that Star Beast falls short of other choices.
