Obviously I love all of these episodes, but the atmosphere in the hospital is spot on (but still nothing on The Shepherd’s Boy)

This is so difficult.
World Enough and Time has a lot of interesting camera angles and highlights the difference between the two ends of the ship and their different time zones and environments. The switches between scenes where Bill watches what the Doctor is doing in ultra-mega-slooooow-mode and what the Doctor is doing in “real” time are really imaginative. And I think the shot where we get a zoom in on Bill’s eye post-conversion, then zoom out with the tear running from her eye is just spot on in conveying the emotional impact that scene has.
But Heaven Sent has such a fantastic atmosphere, even when disregarding Murray Gold’s music (which is the best work he has ever done on Who). And the post-production work done, particularly the editing, is just staggeringly well done. Yes, Steven Moffat’s script is so great, but it is really Rachel Talalay’s vision as a director that makes this story what it is. It is spectacular, just one of those stories you wish you could experience for the first time once again.
The Doctor Falls is beautiful but doesn’t have the same oomph for me with the camera work.

Fine - if everyone is just going to jump on a bandwagon about a story and not be able to see how truly awful it is, then that’s your problem.
And I really, really, really, didn’t like The Doctor Falls at all. It’s a huge let down after the preceding episode which I thought was actually pretty good so that can go up a point.

I’m loving the idea of a directors’ elimination game. Perhaps Graeme Harper or Douglas Camfield would make for good games too!

Heaven Sent is the winner!
Congratulations to Heaven Sent. The time limit is now gone.
Yeah this is always how this one was going to end
If there were any story that had a chance, it was World Enough and Time. That story is conveying a lot of complex stuff and wild ides, and I feel Talalay delivered it well. Heaven Sent is something special, though.
To be fair when I say this is how it was always going to end, I don’t just mean the winner, I think the order of eliminations was also pretty much decided from the outcome, especially the top 5
