Hey, thought I’d make a thread seeing as I brought it up and almost hijacked another thread in the process (whoops!)
I loved the Marvel series which finished today (unfortunately) and wanted to see if anyone else would be down to maybe collaborate, or brainstorm ideas to make some fics as a collection piece?
for those familiar with the series what if, could maybe stylise it in a similar way? have someone overseeing/telling the story. the curator even? and then short perhaps one shot fics.
One of the most obvious options would be animation remakes of Big Finish’s Unbound line which is already based on kinda What If…? ideas. Adapting stories like Auld Mortality and Sympathy for the Devil could be great. And Nicholas Briggs could redeem himself and make a better version of Exile (as far as I know, he regrets certain parts of that story)
I could see a what if Nyssa died during Earthshock instead of Adric. I feel it’d be interesting to see the dynamic in the TARDIS after that (although I’d much prefer that no-one dies in Earthshock, because I just love the S19 team)
For those who don’t know what the Axis is, it’s essentially a hub for all the timelines that the Time Lords have pruned. It features heavily in the Fifth Doctor audio The Axis of Insanity (MR#56) and Gallifrey Series 4.
What if Paul McGann hadn’t been snubbed and got to be in Day of The Doctor instead of Moffat throwing in his own secret incarnation (yes im still bitter)
What if, at the end of The Keeprer of Traken, Tremas had been called away and so the Master took over Nyssa?
I could imagine Tremas contacting the Doctor and begging for help to locate his missing daughter, perhaps even travelling to Logopolis only to discover that Nyssa is dead, killed by the Master. Not so sure I could see him hanging round as a companion though. But, yeah, Sarah Sutton as the Master (or Missy), I would have enjoyed that.
I know one of my previous thoughts about Nyssa was that we could have had Nyssa end up as the Master’s companion rather then the Doctor’s, which I think would have been interesting…
