Seventh Doctor era will now be complete on Blu-Ray! Excited for the new special effects on Remembrance.
The Blu-rays are my next set of purchases, and what better place to start than getting a complete run of Seven.
Iām always iffy with updated special effects, though. I want my 1980s jank.
Lovely! I must say personally I am always a bit iffy on updated special effects myself like @ItsR0b0tNinja but since they include both the original and the new Version, I think I donāt mind.
Lovely to see that one Doctorās Era has been finished, I reckon the next two, who will get that treatment, are 5 and 6. I will say I hope the next one after this will be a Throughton one, hopefully.
But yeah Season 25, easily one of the Shows best from the 80s at least in my eyes, 3 superb story and silver nemesis which is a bit of a mess, but hey if thatās the weakest link out of a season, then thatās a good sign than anything else. Love the Cover Art!
Great news! Although Iāll be waiting for the standard edition.
The picture quality is superb.
The main thing Iām looking forward to is the Minisode they do to promote each box set, if they do one. A few of them have been excellent.
Looking forward to this one. Pretty cool to have Sylvester McCoy complete on Blu-ray.
There wonāt be one because Pete McTighe said the Leela one was the last - theyāve got too expensive.

Right, Iām done with Doctor Who now.
YAYYYYY Remembrance BluRay!!! But what do you mean I donāt get a Remembrance shortā¦
Incredibly excited by this, it hit the notes I wanted it too. Good Behind the Sofa lineup, multiple In Conversation interviews including Cartmel, Looking for Dursley McLinden and a restored version of the VHS edition of Silver Nemesis complete with the documentary. Nice offerings, not on quite the scale of some other releases but it has everything I particularly wanted.
Then my jaw was on the floor when the special editions came up. LOVE how the trailer presented them, very 80s feeling music, exciting montage showing off each story and cute little logos, love it! Iām glad theyāre continuing to use practical effects where they can for these because I felt the Rutan was a huge success. Iām most excited for The Happiness Patrolās special edition because itās my favourite McCoy era story, and the namesake of my old handle before CrashedOnDido elsewhere!
When Sophie Met Lesley is a nice little surprise too. I imagine itās in much the same style as When Janet Met Martin, which really felt a bit like fluff, but really fun fluff. The more representation for The Happiness Patrol the better, and sheās great in Frontios too, I rewatched that last night so thatās a fun coincidence.
The artwork is great as ever too, and Iām really glad the artwork represents Silver Nemesis and The Happiness patrol as prominently as it does, with season 25 you tend to expect Remembrance to cast its shadow over everything else, love that weāve got the pink TARDIS in there! I imagine the TARDIS interior art will represent The Greatest Show in the Galaxy too, so hard luck Daleks.
Not a fan of this era but as a completist I will be getting it (standard edition) also because the extras are so much fun. Sheila Hancock on the Behind the Sofa!
My wallet wonāt recover now i HAVE to have them all
of course that wont stop me from also buying his era in DVD format aswell
Like the Doctor Who equivalent of Pokemon.
I owe @CrashedOnDido an apology as I was mistaken about the āno more minisode trailersā. Hereās an article with the actual facts
I love behind the sofa! Both the angle of reactions from people who were involved and those who werenāt. Especially when itās both comparing their experiences. But I already own the German volume of Season 25, so I canāt really justify getting the collection.
With some I wait until the standard edition comes out, or a cheap sale/2nd hand.
No apology necessary, itās an easy enough mistake, nobodyās immune to it.
