Doctor Who Target Novelisations

I agree. Getting feedback (and potentially proper input too) from a person of colour would be an excellent idea.

As for the perspective of a Finetimer? Yes, but you’re right about it needing to be sensitive. It IS s a rich topic to explore. One of the lovely things about the novelisations is that they can push boundaries and go to places that the TV episodes need necessarily be more cautious about. I think a novelisation could expose the unpleasant nature underlying all of Finetime much more overtly than on screen. It would be a very different novelisation, but that’s no bad thing.

Interesting. I must mean that they still are selling great! I would guess that it is three different modern Doctors.

I think that would be a great book! It is always best when the TV writer writes the book.

I’m hoping that one day “The Story and the Engine” is adapted into a novel by Inua Ellams.

Master and Broken yes, I like those a lot, but they don’t even crack top 10 Lidster for me! He’s a fantastic BF writer and has done lots of fantastic work across Who, Torchwood and Benny.

I have listened to some of his work (not those) and seem to have rated them kind of good. Now I am excited for him too!

I’d recommend the Short Trip A Full Life for an example of why I love Jo Lidster. It’s short and cheap and so heartbreaking!

Edit: I kinda want to make a Top 10 Jo Lidster stories now…
