Doctor Who: Lost in Time game

I’ve completed the first two episodes of this game as I thought I’d play it so I could rate it honestly and don’t really know what to say. Nice to see Ten and Sarah Jane together on Skaro for some reason I guess? Does this game improve??

Apologies if there is already a thread for this as I could not find one!

I was playing for when it was relatively new. The story’s nothing outstanding, but it wasn’t terrible. The game gets repetitive fast, but was still fun. Then one day I opened the app and it had partially reset my progress and kind of stuck me at the start of the story again. Weeks of progress gone. That’s when I gave up on it. I did get far enough in the story to learn who was behind everything, but don’t know if there was more or if I’d reached the end and that’s why it reset.

Not unplayable is about the best compliment I can give this game.
Some nice moments here and there, but nothing groundbreaking, and very repetitive

I’ve not played this, but it does make me wonder if the episodes should all be on the guide individually rather than as just part of the game

I’ve also found this YT channel that uploads the episodes

Also any reason why there’s no War or Ninth Doctor? :frowning:

Utterly horrible money grabber of a ‘game’. I just don’t get this sort of thing at all. Just tapping on things until you can get enough of the ‘currency’ so you can make it do it automatically without tapping. I mean what’s the point of a game where you are aiming to not actually do the only thing in the game you can do?

Lots of ‘exclusive’ characters which cost real money. No real way of ever completing a ‘story’ without spending money. Just ugh :rage:

I ‘played’ it until the Doom’s Day stuff came to it. Never been back to it since. Utter garbage.

I agree with @deltaandthebannermen this is the worst kind of mobile game, a shameless money grab with practically zero fun content, just clicking, ads, and micro transactions.

I played it for a while because those kind of games can be addictive, and I’m desperate for a Doctor Who game to play, but sorry this is just absolutely awful.

Do people really want the “episodes” on the site?

There’s more tenuous stuff already on there …

I’ve been playing this game for a few weeks now, it is very addicting to me and I often enjoy these types of games for when I’m like waiting on a bus or something, but I get the criticism. The ads are starting to really annoy me.

The story is pretty boring in my opinion but that might also be because I think it’s a very boring medium, and for me interrupting playing. It just drags on.

I really enjoy the designs though, I think all the locations and characters are super fun

Picked it up again today. They’ve actually added stuff that wasn’t there last time, like the “7 Day Challange” and the “Seasons Pass”. It’s still somewhat fun (I kinda like this kind of casual game where you can play for a bit and then leave it and come back later. And this one has a story. The Events aren’t as fun because they always seem to end before you’ve had a chance to finish the story. That said, for a simple little game of this type, it’s perfectly fine.

I think the main reason I dislike it is because it is seemingly impossible to actually complete the events in the timeframe given without either paying real money, or watching loads of ads.

And my “completionist” brain just hates that I’m not getting them done, so much so that I quit the game.

Please for the love of Who, can someone make a decent Doctor Who game?!

I second this. I mean how has this not been done already?

One thing I will give it is the range of characters which was brave enough to spread across the classic series and even had Kamelion in a ‘pivotal’ role.

[cough] Lego Dimensions [cough]

(I know it doesn’t quite count but it is utterly brilliant and a feast for fans of the show)

Yes, but is it available now? And if so, can it be played without the various figures that went with it?

I mean even the Adventure Games were decent examples of a decent Doctor Who game. Was the Eternity Clock any good?

Probably not but I have it and the figures so I’m alright

Does the PS4 version work on a PS5?

If so, I’m gonna get it.

(I already have the Doctor Who packs, purely for the minifigs…)

Not a clue. I have the Xbox 360 version because I bought it before we got an XBox One. The game itself isn’t cross compatible but the figures work with any of the platforms.
