I’ve got one edit ready to be posted soon, but so many WIPs… ![]()
I feel that
I have a whole music video from March that I haven’t finished yet
Good part is that if I ever wanna edit benpolly again i have like 90% of their surviving clips on my iPad so clip gathering ain’t hard
Gathering footage is such a pain! I’m glad that this prompt month has rolled around, honestly; writing was my first love, and even though it has its own challenges, you’re not limited by things like storage space or rendering times, haha
More Clayton Hickman restorations and colourisations:
An edit of mine featuring (nearly all) the NuWho companions to ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’ by ABBA.
Since these tend to do the rounds now and again… some Hartnell ‘next episode’ edits I made a few years ago:
It’s always fun to see them pop up around fan forums and social media.
You made these?! I’ve seen them everywhere and even used them myself a fair few times; well done!
Yep! Sometimes I wish I’d added a watermark, but AI would make it easy to remove these days anyway, so ah well. I just love seeing them pop up – love that they caught on.
I’m not sure if I should put this here or make my own thread so here goes.
The Doctor’s Theory of Everything
Background
Originally I messed up and misread the June Prompt thread and began making a wallpaper for the “experiment” category for the badge, not realizing it was fanfic/stories not fan art (I guess I don’t see so well!). So, because it doesn’t fit anywhere else and it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting a badge, I thought I’d post it here! Whoever wants can use it for personal use as their wallpaper, but please don’t distribute it.
About
Since the Doctor is always drawing on blackboards, I thought it would be really neat to make something realistic that a Time Lord would appreciate. As if teaching something to a companion on a TARDIS, or at Time Lord Academy.
It basically includes foundational theories in quantum mechanics like Schrödinger’s equation, Heisenberg uncertainty principle, and Feynman’s path integrals. Einsten’s General Relativity, String Theory, M-Theory, Calabi-Yau manifolds, dimensional stuff, etc. All basic, very mood board-y. I’m not a mathematician, I’m just a hard sci-fi enthusiast.
The Script
One version has Time And Relative Dimension In Space (TARDIS) written out in Gallifreyan while the other doesn’t. For the Gallifreyan I used the official translator then worked with the symbol layout with Nano Banana 2 to connect them, then did all the effects and composition in Photoshop. This is my first time doing a gradient in PS so it might not look great.
On the symbol versions I lowered the brightness so the symbols would pop but that also meant toning down the chalk look. I restored it on the last image.
No symbol -
White symbol (it’s nice and stark and it’s before I added silly effects) -
More chalk-like faded symbol -
Gold gradient and gold glow version w/ background brightness toned down -
Gold with no brightness fix -
Hope you enjoy. ![]()
Woagh that looks beautiful!
Also, while the prompt month is primarily fanfic and kind of designed with that in mind, you can definitely post art there too! All creative endeavors are welcome ![]()
Thank you so much, glad you think so. I’ll go ahead and add it then! ![]()
After the announcement of the Christmas Special’s cancellation, I remembered this edit I made a while ago. I had no idea how prescient it was, but I like to think it can give some hope or comfort in this strange period:
Two Brief Encounters.pdf (1020.8 KB)
I really like the brief encounters stories from Doctor Who Magazine, so I wrote a couple of my own! Writing and art by me! Enjoy!
It’s missing the roundels. Every TARDIS needs roundels. So I don’t like it. /j
I think the specific pillar blocks being placed on their side to simulate the roundels is a great workaround for vanilla Minecraft! One can hardly make a good circle in miniature in a game rife with blocks and cubes, haha
Oh, I didn’t even realise that they were technically the roundels. I retract my previous statement!
