Thank goodness. Give the show more time to plant its feet with a new audience. Surprise with how quick Disney likes trimming projects.
To be honest I don’t think this means anything. Of course, he is going to be positive about it until they don’t have the rights anymore. If he would hint about s03 or more classic stuff it would have been another story.
I think @Tian is probably right here. It would be real weird to be anything but positive when there is another season already made that releases next year, it would be counterproductive to Disney+ own interests.
What might help a wee bit is going to https://help.disneyplus.com/ , choosing “Feedback” then “Request series” (think that is what it says, I was on the Danish page ) and make Doctor Who related requests for your three choices Who Fans Worldwide unite and spam!
To be honest I don’t think that matters eather. I think that the only thing that Disney cares about is whether season one hits the right numbers or not and those numbers will we never see.
Yeah I know you are very likely to be right about this
Okay how about this. When every Who fans leaves for work they leave D+ streaming Doctor Who while they are gone? (Might not be the best use of energy though…)
New plan, make a photoshopped picture of Taylor Swift wearing a Doctor Who T-shirt! Watch magic happen after that
I like to be a little more optimistic. We certainly can’t read too much into this, however…
…given that a decision will surely be made soon (the team will presumably be in communications as they are heading towards the time when they need to start pre-production for 2026), it would seem odd to be overly positive and then have an announcement that they were not renewing. Better to really not say that much, surely.
It’s certainly no evidence of a continuing commitment, but the language used is (at the very least) much more encouraging than it could have been. Especially hot on the heels of the bad feeling concerning their very public cancellation of “The Acolyte”.
