Great review! I agree with most of what you write.
Oooh, your high scores here are making me excited to listen to more Main Range!
The Monthly Adventures #064 - “The Next Life” by Gary Russell and Alan Barnes
The Divergence Arc comes to an end! Or more of a fizzle I suppose as it unceremoniously stumbles to a close in a dull and derivative script full of insufferable characters. Three hours I’m glad is over, frankly - 4/10
The Monthly Adventures #065 - “The Juggernauts” by Scott Alan Woodard
Yet another Dalek story, oh joy. I find little reason to listen to this one; it’s inoffensive with some some great performances and good if you need a bit of Davros in your life but you could get an identical experience out of better stories - 6/10
The Monthly Adventures #066 - “The Game” by Darin Henry
I’ve been tricked, I’ve been duped, I’ve been double crossed, I’m sure of it. There is no way in hell that this is rated a near 7/10 on this site. The Game is one of the most astronomically bad stories I’ve ever had to sit through and apparently nobody shares the sentiment. Oh well, here’s over 1500 words about why I’m right and you’re wrong - 1/10
The Monthly Adventures #067 - “Dreamtime” by Simon A. Forward
This is one of the lowest rated audios on the site and whilst I can understand it I struggle to agree. It’s convoluted, confusing and often mundane, yes, but I think it’s the better of Forward’s two contributions to The Monthly Adventures to a vastly improved atmosphere - 6/10
The Monthly Adventures #068 - “Catch-1782” by Alison Lawson
An interesting time travel mechanic is squandered by a glacial pace and severe lack of tension. A muddled plot and a failed attempt at writing an intriguing concept make Catch-1782 disappointing more than anything - 5/10
The Monthly Adventures #069 - "Three’s a Crowd by Colin Brake
What’s this? Two reviews in a day? I know, I’ve gone mad. Three’s a Crowd is a story, it happened, and then it ended. I don’t have much to say about this one, I feel distinctly unpassionate about it. It’s not bad, just dissapointing - 6/10
The Monthly Adventures #070 - “Unregenerate!” by David A. McIntee
I’m just so tired. If you’re wondering why it took me twenty days to review this or why the review is only 570 words long just know that I think I might be going through the worst run of Main Range stories yet. They’re not bad, just so utterly unengaging - 6/10
