Collectors of the site! What's your rarest physical media you own?

Oh, I have a few Torchwood trading cards, some of which are labelled “rare” (including two shinies!) but I got them for a pound each on eBay and paid just as much for shipping, so I wouldn’t really call them all that special.

I guess by definition my rarest items are the Big Finish limited editions of The Novel Adaptations v2 and 10DA v1, and even those were editions of 10,000 and 5,000 respectively.

Outside of DW, I think the rarest thing I have is a wristwatch given as a consolation prize to a contestant who lost on s1 of Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego?

OK, so the thread is about physical media so this is the wrong place but…

I have a tiny tuft of Yeti fur that has also been taken back to the locations where The Abominable Snowmen was filmed. I also have a tiny piece of ‘bonded polycarbide armour’ from the skirt of a Dalek that was fire damaged during the filming of Remembrance.

They might not be much, but they mean a great deal to me.

The 1965 annual in very good condition. It’s my holy grail, and I take it to every convention to get it signed by all of the doctors! I’ve had it for over 14 years now and it remains in good nick.

I also have the 1973 annual, the 1974 annual, the 1976 and the 1981 annual (both signed by Tom Baker)

Update: I also have the Once and Future limited edition CDs with one being #32

I don’t really have anything extremely rare, but I have a few items which I think are pretty cool!

  • a vhs copy of the zero imperative signed by sylvester mccoy and sophie aldred

  • some rarer books like who killed kennedy and cold fusion

  • a physical copy of zagreus

  • fallen gods by jon blum and kate orman mostly bc I can’t find it for sale anywhere? the main reason I have this is bc it was published on my birthday lol

plus a decent amount of DVDs, VHSs, books, magazines, comics and audio dramas

other than that I’d kill for a full set of the EDAs which seem to have gone up in price recently :smiling_face_with_tear:

I guess it’s the five big finish vinyls I own.

I would commit unforgivable crimes for a physical copy of Zagreus

I don’t really collect any physical media - I have a few toys and books but that’s it.

I’m not sure how rare this is, but a friend got me this book from a secondhand bookstore - Doctor Who and the Daleks Omnibus - I’ve added it to the site so I can check it off

I’m not sure how I’d know what’s rare of what I own. There are some book series that I have in their entirety. Of the Targets, I understand The Wheel in Space is hard to come by. Whatever of the NA/MA/EDA/PDA books or Telos novellas is the rarest of those…

Perhaps charity books like Missing Pieces and Perfect Timing? The Shada script book that came with the VHS? The 5 novelizations from the New Zealand DWFC?

Other than books, probably my 16mm prints of episodes 4-7 of Marco Polo, I guess.

Oh wait, that last one was just a fever dream.

well from books I know the last couple releases of Virgin releases can be hard to find and the Big Finish and BBC Short Trips books are also considered rare (I believe)

I dunno about the BBC Short Trips books (I have those), but I didn’t get the Big Finish ones at the time. I’d like to pick them up, but I’ve looked enough to know it would cost a pretty penny to get them, just like completing my Big Finish Benny collection would be a pain in the wallet.
