Last choice: the Doctor don’t risk turning his back on the stranger

The Doctor, dismissing threats with his usual bravado, is abruptly interrupted by a sinister movement behind him. Turning, he faces a decayed, corpse-like figure that was once human. The creature lunges, its steel-trap grip immobilizing him. As the Doctor questions the rider’s macabre ally, he’s struck from behind, plunging into unconsciousness.

The Doctor awakens in a damp, windowless underground chamber lined with barrels and crates. Slouched against a wall but unharmed, he confirms he hasn’t regenerated by checking his “attack eyebrows.” Across the room, a dark passageway leads away, and a caped man with a ponytail stands at a makeshift table, his back to the Doctor.

  • If you think the Doctor should challenge the man
  • If you think he should remain silent and continue to observe the man
  • If you think he should try to sneak out of the chamber unseen

When the DOctor turned and met the zombie and there was no choice at the end, I was convinced that this was it!

Luckily, I was wrong and we got to choose from three options instead!

How was it that madness was descrubed? Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results? Let’s change tactics and observe a bit!

Definitely.
This feels like if you observe him, he’s just going to hit us with the classic:“I know that you are awake, you know!”
So I rather the Doctor speaks first.

We may have said this before, but I feel like saying it again. The choices in this one feel so much different than the choices in the last one. We’re actually considering how we want the character to act. Feels very different.

I also feel like the author of this knows how to make it fun by switching up the chapters with one that did not have a choice and one that had three. It is a great way of keeping it interesting.
