CBeebies Doctor Who animated series in the works

Low key make it an anthology different doctor each episode show in the intro it could be any doctor popping up it’s perfect

This sounds like it could be a bit of fun

I would like for this either to be the new Billie Piper Doctor, or the Tim Treloar 3rd Doctor scooting around in Bessie and the Whomobile, or the 11th Doctor (either Smith or Dudman)

I feel like that would be proper confusing for the wee audience

You know that would actually be so fun, cycle through a few Doctors and have cute little adventures

I think this is a really cool idea though, if for no other reason than we can stave off the “Ohmigosh they’re cancelling DW!!1!” panic for another year  In my heart I want it to be animated versions of the Mr Men DW books but I fear that will never happen

I do think it being CBeebies instead of CBBC is a mistake, but time will tell!

I think that can be a lot of fun! Obviously the precise execution we’ll have to wait and see, but I definitely think it’s a good sign for the future of Doctor Who as a whole. And going to get lots of new kids hooked, which is always a win

Scherzo helps at least one TGuide user sleep, surely it’ll help the kiddies!

I personally don’t think so as someone who has a nephew who is in the age bracket for cbbc they don’t watch it and haven’t watched cbbc shows I think cbbc is more dyer nower days due to stuff like streaming n YouTube so CBeebies is probs a better route to go

Seeing as the Doctor sometimes takes the form of people they have met during their travels, they will regenerate as Captain Poppy!
Ideal for the target audience to identify with.

Yeah I feel like CBBC is something that kids would have to watch of their own accord but they’d rather play Minecraft.

Whereas CBeebies is something the parents force the kids to watch, usually on an iPad at dinner

There’s a house on my street where the kids just sit on the couch and watch CBeebies 24/7, you can see it from outside.

Really depressing tbh

As for this news, I think its a good move. I’ve always thought that the Whoniverse should be a bit like what Star Trek is doing, different shows for different age groups. Keeping crossovers to a minimum. As I’ve said elsewhere, RTD was ahead of the curve on this years ago with the main show, Torchwood aimed at an older audience & SJA aimed at younger fans. He did resist a young Doccy Who show, which was supposed to be set at the Gallirey Academy I think. Going for the Harry Potter crowd.

I think this is a great idea and has precedent in other franchises like Star Wars.

Hopefully the tone will be similar to this:

And Jodie would be perfect for the Doctor although actually it would be cool to have Ncuti. Certainly I think anyone pitching would do good to include a diverse cast in it as CBeebies are excellent at inclusion. And Thirteen’s era has that ready made really.
