I’m down with that. In theory.

I tend to really enjoy the animations of the missing serials, plus this would give us a chance to get that Phineas and Ferb crossover I’ve always wanted. Just think what those boys could do with the sonic screwdriver!

Almost seems silly in the days of amazing effects to turn to animation, but if it means more than 8 freaking episodes in a year, let’s see it!

Ohh that’s fun. I’m not exactly in the target age bracket but oh well.

I think the bbc have got the age group wrong…they say it’s for CBeebies, but TARDIS guide users aren’t that young? /j

Interesting. I am not sure if it is the right move if they want to expand the audience of young people. The risk is that a show like this could make them think that the main show is just for kids. But I might be wrong, and it could go the other way and make young people fall in love with the concept and then want to watch the main show when they are older.

I think that the format of Doctor Who will fit this kind of show greatly either way.

Not how’d i use the IP - on a program for small children. But i don’t have children, nor am i a child. So perhaps my opinion doesn’t matter on this.
But it’s probably a good sign of the future of the main show for that crowd that says the show will be cancelled.
I wonder if they’ll use Billie or go with a different doctor that might appeal to smaller children?

I just wrote that I am sceptical as well, but I think it will work great for that age group. My five-year-old really likes the Star Wars kids’ cartoon.

Give us a tongue in cheek Lego Doctor Who series

Interesting that it’s explicitly got to have the doctor in it, as opposed to something like SJA that’s set in the same world, I wonder what doctor they’ll go for.

Kinda feel this would be a fun way of giving us more Jodie or Jo Martin, I think a female doctor could be great on a kids show like this

Fugitive would also be a great way to keep it more seperate from main continuity too

Ooh I like this. I also agree they shouldn’t target the main audience for children, but if this could be a spin off to get the kids into it early, then have the main show a bit more grown up, that would be good.

Even The Sarah Jane Adventures is good television despite being aimed at kids.

(Although CBeebies is very young)

Just as I was worried the “Whoniverse” wasn’t going to take off, it’s expanding again!

Are they hoping to hook them young and get them into the show when they’re older? To me, it feels like they’re aiming a bit too young to get people to transition over to Doctor Who

babies to ~5 years old

Pre-school aged

I think that is just a bit too young. I think something similar to Spidey and His Amazing Friends would be perfect. That is aimed at 6-year-olds, which means 4-8-year-olds watch it.

This seems like the intention to me as well - I think it’s a great idea, I just worry that the target age range for the main show will be adjusted down as well to accommodate this, when I think it needs to move a little in the opposite direction.

At the very least, it’s an encouraging sign for future series of the main show. I’ll be interested to see who the lead Doctor is for this, as presumably the BBC is aiming to have a new series before 2027/2028, so this doesn’t have to follow on from The Reality War (which would be the weirdest way possible to follow up on that cliffhanger!)

Hmm, interesting and unexpected news! This is an area that the show hasn’t really explored properly, so it’s definitely intriguing. Not sure about the age group - it’s very young, which means that the stories are probably very childish, if you will - but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s bad. I guess time will tell.

I wonder what it being separate from the main show means? A new Doctor? A former Doctor? No Doctor?

Also, I hope they are partnering with a good studio.

At least we know for sure that the BBC haven’t lost faith in the show.

Looking it up to confirm, people say it’s more like 6 and under rather than 5 and under, so I could see it being like that

It’ll definitely have the doctor
