I think the guy who was making Doctor Puppet like a decade ago should be involved in making this new series. Had a perfect style for it.
I agree, this is a risk, but probably a relatively small risk. The main show is so well established in public consciousness, that most people who are already viewers (or have been in the past) of the main show would understand that this new venture is just pitched for a much younger age group and doesnāt influence the main show in any major way. I donāt think itās that likely that people (beyond the usual strident voices who aim to disrupt and cause upset) would think this seriously means that DW is suddenly just for very young children.
I guess this is the real motivation behind the move and I think itās quite smart. I fall firmly in the camp that believes DW works best as a family show (often tackling big concepts and deep ideas in ways that are rewarding for adults whilst not alienating - excuse the pun - for children). That said, I think buy in from children is key to audience growth - thatās where the new viewers come from - and helpful at getting adults to watch - sitting down alongside their children. As such, seeding DW from a very early age could be a stroke of genius. Time will tell, I guess. Something different needed to be done and this might just be the a step in a positive direction.
I have all those books. I adore them.
I periodically read them to my wife and my (now adult) children. Iāve even read them over a video call to my one son and his girlfriend (so they didnāt feel left out). Yes, I had to show the pictures to the screen for each page.
Reading @MrColdStreamās comments about basically still being a childā¦

This Thread seems appropriate to voice my crazy ideaā¦
We should one day do a TV Club Extra called Animation Club and watch (or rewatch in my case) The Infinite Quest and Dreamland (perhaps the first one after New Who Season 3 and the second one somewhere in between final Tenth Doctor specials)
Thereās been talk in the past of fitting The Infinite Quest and Dreamland into their slots within regular TV Club, but it was met with mixed response (this was before Club Extras were a thing).
Another thought would be non Doctor Who TV Clubs. Say, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Prodigy, etcā¦
Though I suspect expanding the categories a bit and routing all the non Doctor Who (related) tv show posts to one category might be in order if that ever happened.
