I also use Firefox because it allows you to add lots of helpful extensions. And duckduckgo as my browser because Google was driving me insane with its ads and the search just was plain bad. I don’t know how people ever find anything with it anymore
I too have ended up using Brave after Chrome removed uBlock Origin. Works completely fine from my end and I find I don’t particularly regret leaving Chrome.
So what are the Firefox privacy issues a few of you have mentioned?
My Apple account has been hacked no less than 5 times
Firefox my beloved
I also use Firefox. The privacy issues @deltaandthebannermen mentioned aren’t real. People freaked out when they had to change their Terms of Use recently to reflect a change in law. They’ve since updated it again to clarify this. This article breaks it down pretty well:
And this is their official statement:
I’m afraid that’s not to do with Apple, more to do with your security practises.
Use a complex password, one that isn’t easily guessed, and also turn on two-factor authentication.
There’s even a more secure version you can turn on that means you can only edit your password and other important settings when you’re at home or work, so no-one who steals your phone or tries to hack you from far away can do it:
Oh, my bad. As you were…
Literally all I keep thinking every time I see this thread
My dad worked in IT since the 80s, i always use a complex password and 2fa is on as standard, i don’t really care about my Apple account because i don’t have any Apple products anymore
Here’s a fun thing to do if you use Google search, have a Google account, and have personalized ads turned on. If you go to https://myadcenter.google.com/personalizationoff?sasb=true&ref=ad-settings and click on “manage privacy,” you can see what Google thinks it knows about you, including your relationship status, how old you are, what languages you speak, household income, education level, industry you work in, whether you’re a homeowner, and if you’re a parent. Again, it only works if you have personalized ads turned on.
Well, Google claims I’m single. Maybe it predicts my future based on my activity on TG
I am married but have no kids.
