Yes!!! I’ll take arcs over aimless adventures any day of the week. Something has to be said for the fact I’m more excited for a range with Charley than I am Time War
I’m still telling you all this is building up to a multi-8 set in the future with all 3 current eras colliding
I certainly hope you turn out to be right. Or turn out to be secretly writing for 8DAs
No comment! But Caerdroia 2 is gonna go hard
Out of Time is getting a boxset release which works out cheaper than buying them individually!
It is his 30th Anniversary next year, so we shall see what happens
Oh that’s sick! Considering I really rate 2/3 stories from this, and still enjoy Gates of Hell, I highly recommend this for anyone who’s not heard Out of Time!
The perfect time for my theory to come true…
Personally, I will be skipping this unless it’s a new series Doctor actor returning for them. I have no interest in a box set with an impressionist, unless it’s for a deceased actor. I’d rather they either did Companion Chronicles like they used to, or they waited until they become available (or Big Finish had a sudden increase to their finances and offered the original actors money they cannot refuse).
I really do agree with this to be honest regarding actors who are still with us. That said, it worked with Dudman but only because its Dudman and personally I don’t have the same attachment to Smith that I do Capaldi so if it truly is 12 but recast, idk if I’ll bother.
Twelve always seems to get the short end of the stick as far as EU stories go - we’ve had plenty of Nine, Ten, Eleven and Thirteen content in the past few years since their departures, but I can’t recall much for him other than the initial three volumes of the 12DCs and one of the 60th anniversary books. If this new saga is based around him, I’ll probably buy it regardless of whether Capaldi is involved or not (and let’s be honest, there’s a 99% chance he isn’t), because we don’t get much with him otherwise (and he’s my favourite Doctor, of course!).
Yeah he’s one of my faves too and if Shaw is working on it then I’m sure it’ll be amazing but idk how I feel about it being a recast. Even if he was like pitch perfect I’m still under the belief it can wait till he does BF one day if he ever does. If not, just adapt it for a CC.
I don’t mind so much if it’s pitch perfect solely because as much as I don’t wanna admit it, I don’t think we’re ever getting Capaldi. I know Eccleston and Tom said the same once, but he’s been really firm on never returning to the role
In that case do CC’s instead, as I say. If he turns round and joins eventually it’ll just look odd to have recast him and wasted stories when they could’ve waited. A lot of it comes across to me as impatience. CC’s would work fine IMO for all of New Who’s Doctors.
Yeah fair enough! To each their own, though I’d have 100% agreed with you before 11DC. But I really don’t want us to potentially miss out on something as great as that again if we could potentially get it
Vortex is out! Just a fed tidbits I picked up on:
- Matt Fitton is overseeing the 9DA series with Rose, with Helen Goldwyn at the helm.
- Snare is set immediately post-Fathers Day.
- Peri in the 6DA Bad Terms is older Peri.
- Bad Terms ends on a cliffhanger.
- There are currently no plans for more Drax stories.
- Dark Gallifrey will have trilogies without the Master (as we know, the Nun and Monk will get trilogies already.)
Any idea when the they will release more details on the upcoming 13DAs? How far in advance do BF usually release stuff like that?
It depends really from range to range. Torchwood, which is also bi-monthly, is usually done in waves so like 3/4 stories at a time. For the 13da’s and 9da’s though I kinda expect they might wait till each one has been released before announcing the next.
Whoo! Big win– I was slightly worried they’d left that arc behind!
My dream is for the 9DA theyll have the trailer at the end of previous realese akin to the ‘Next Time’ bit on TV.
