There’s definitely still some 2020 stories to be released, iirc it was leaked via a CV that Jane Slavin recorded an auido novella in 2020 called “Prisoners of Nerva”.
UPDATE:
Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill travel to 1920s London in The Thirteenth Doctor Adventures: The Violet Hour, a full-cast audio drama, available March 2026.
The Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) and Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill) return for another brand-new audio adventure in March, and this time the TARDIS is taking them back a century, to 1926, London’s East End.
With England reeling from the recent war and waves of illness, many Londoners are turning to seances to seek connection with their deceased loved ones. But when the medium Esther Shine dies in mysterious circumstances, the time travellers rush to investigate – and uncover a surprising alien threat.
The Violet Hour, written by Rafaella Marcus, is the fifth instalment in The Thirteenth Doctor Adventures, a series of twelve brand-new full-cast audio dramas set between series 12 and 13 of TV Doctor Who.
Doctor Who – The Thirteenth Doctor Adventures: The Violet Hour is now available to pre-order for just £9.99 (as a digital download to own) or £13.99 (download to own + collector’s edition CD), exclusively here. Please note: the collector’s edition CD is strictly limited to 1,500 copies and will not be re-pressed.
The Doctor and Yaz arrive in the East End of London, 1926. There’s grief in the air: not only the years of war and sickness, but a more recent death.
A strange message prompts them to investigate the murder of a medium. A young woman whose seances hide deeper secrets – and an unearthly power that threatens the entire city.
The guest cast of The Violet Hour includes Olivia Marcus (Extraordinary, Everyone Else Burns) as the grieving sister Miriam and David Robb (Downton Abbey, I, Claudius) as the ruthless Colonel Maltravers, as well as Liv Andrusier, Joseph Arkley, and Anna Crichlow.
Writer Rafaella Marcus said: “It’s been a thrill to take the Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz to the world of music hall and seances, and bring them face to face with all the strange and murky things that occupy the underbelly of 1920s London.
“Speaking to the dead is a dangerous and – quite literally – haunting business, and even more so in this era. I’ve loved writing Yaz and the Doctor’s challenging, loyal, heartfelt dynamic as they investigate both a series of murders and their own losses – I hope listeners enjoy it as much as I did.”
The Violet Hour is the fifth of twelve full-cast audio drama adventures for the Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz, released bimonthly. Big Finish listeners can save money by pre-ordering all twelve releases in a multibuy bundle for just £102 (digital download to own) exclusively from the Big Finish website. Additional three-release multibuy bundles are available from just £27 (download to own) and £33 (download to own + collector’s edition CD), exclusively here.
Does that gray t-shirt mark the first Big Finish Original costume variant for 13?
How long has that range been in the oven for if 2020 is when an unannounced one was recorded?
Jane Slavin indicates a Fourth Doctor story, possibly Romana I (Lord of Misrule was read by Jon Culshaw however), Romana II, Sarah, season 18? Louise Jameson would read a Leela story, she’s done all the Omega Factor audiobooks. The title too indicates a Fourth Doctor story.
I am so looking forward to March! A new 11th Doctor series, a ghostly 13th, one final Bilis Manger story with Torchwood (I thought the actor had passed?), a new UNIT BNW, the return of Bret Vyon (REALLY looking forward to this), a new Star Cops, a new Noonan 1st Doctor audio and the return of the 4th Doctor and my Sarah Jane!
I’m interested in every single thing releasing in March - that never happens! There’s usually always a few things I have zero interest in. What a banger of a month!
He has, sadly, but many of these audios are recorded years in advance.
Personally I doubt Murray Melvin will be in it, if he is it may just be archive footage. This is the only upcoming Torchwood without a cast list, which to me suggests either there’s a suprirse coming or more likely there’s not any recognisable names in it. Instead I think it’ll have Billis Manger being behind the scenes and never seen.
The backstage section on Curtain’s bio say it was recorded on the 11th of February 2025, after Melvin’s death. So unfortunately I don’t think he’ll feature in it.
For some reason I have the awful feeling that it could include AI. It’s the only reason I got the digital version over the physical version. Just in case….
Still not sure how I’d feel on it.

Oh. Interesting, I didn’t realise this. I have him down as being in it, and there is a badge for completing all his stories which hinges on this. I guess we will all find out.
UPDATE:
Tom Baker and Sadie Miller explore days to come in The Fourth Doctor Adventures: Lethal Progress, a box set of three full-cast audio adventures, due for release June 2026.
The Doctor takes the TARDIS into the future where many great scientific leaps are taking place. But every new advance has its risks – and some of these risks are deadlier than others.
The Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) and Sarah Jane Smith (Sadie Miller) will take three trips forward in time in Lethal Progress, a box set of brand-new audio adventures set during Season 13 of Doctor Who.
But the course of the future rarely runs smooth, and everywhere the TARDIS lands, danger awaits.
A British space expedition encounters a mysterious village, a pioneering hyperspace journey leads to a race to avert disaster, and Sarah finds herself in one of her most terrifying experiences yet – having to perform onstage!
Doctor Who – The Fourth Doctor Adventures: Lethal Progress is now available to pre-order for just £19.99 (download to own) or £24.99 (download to own + collector’s edition 3-disc CD box set) exclusively here. Please note: the collector’s edition CD box set is strictly limited to 1,500 copies and will not be re-pressed.
The Doctor’s three new trips in time are:
Green and Pleasant Planet by Tim Foley
The Doctor and Sarah find themselves exploring an alien world alongside a British space expedition. It’s never been visited before… so what’s a model village doing on the surface of the planet?
Finding the answer may prove deadly.
The Continuum by John Dorney
The Doctor and Sarah land on the space-station Daedalus on the day it makes history.
The first journey through hyperspace has just been completed. But it hasn’t gone as smoothly as posterity suggests.
Something terrible is happening – and the clock is ticking down.
The Audience by Lizzie Hopley
A cultural festival on Gakoria should be light relief for the TARDIS crew.
But when one of the cast of a play dies, Sarah has to join the troupe. And the Audience on this world are very demanding.
Because on this planet… the play’s the thing.
The guest cast of Lethal Progress includes Jake Wardle (Twin Peaks), Alexander Cobb (Marvel’s Moon Knight), and Esther Coles (Enola Holmes), plus further names to be announced.
Producer David Richardson said: “The Doctor and Sarah Jane head out among the stars… and they’re indomitable! After the cosily Earth-bound The Ministry of Death, the travellers visit other worlds and other times in Lethal Progress, which, as the title might suggest, finds that scientific advancement doesn’t always benefit the human race. Expect three imaginative and thrilling adventures from the minds of the brilliant Lizzie Hopley, Tim Foley and John Dorney!”
Writer John Dorney explained his episode: “I came into this story wanting to write something with a bit of horror but in a science fiction way. I was looking at different fictions for inspiration, like The Great God Pan and Event Horizon. Then I began to think about doing the whole thing as one long continuous scene; we’ve had a few ‘single take’ films like that in recent years, and I was curious to see what that would bring to a Doctor Who story.”
And, the third episode’s writer Lizzie Hopley said: “Everyone says write what you know, so with this story, as I started off as an actress, I wanted to write something about that process in an alien environment. I’ve had some nightmare audiences, so this is basically a nightmare. I had to tone down the horror!”
All three of 2026’s Fourth Doctor Adventures box sets (due for release in March, June and September) can be pre-ordered together in a multibuy bundle for just £57 (download to own) or £70.50 (download to own + collector’s edition CD).
Alternatively, listeners can buy this release as part of a bundle of all 15 Classic Doctor Who box sets released in 2026 for just £285 (download to own) or £352.50 (download to own + collector’s edition CD box set).

UPDATE:
The Sixth Doctor Adventures has moved forward a month, and we have all the info for it.
Colin Baker, Mark Strickson and Nicola Bryant star in The Sixth Doctor Adventures: Expulsion, a brand-new box set of full-cast audio drama, due for release April 2026.
The Doctor and Peri are reunited with an old friend – or is he an enemy? Turlough insists he’s changed since they last met. The trouble is, so has the Doctor, and he’s not inclined to trust his one-time companion.
As they travel through Stuart England, Medieval France and Viking Denmark, can they forge a new relationship – or will Turlough’s secrets force them further apart?
Listeners of The Sixth Doctor Adventures were surprised at the end of August 2025’s box set, Bad Terms, when the Doctor (Colin Baker) and Peri (Nicola Bryant) found themselves reunited with an old travelling companion, Vislor Turlough (Mark Strickson).
Turlough’s time with the Fifth Doctor – as seen on TV Doctor Who from 1983 to 1984 – was tempestuous, as he spent much of it in league with the Black Guardian, plotting against his Time Lord friend. How will the Doctor deal with a supposedly matured Turlough, and how will Turlough deal with a regenerated Doctor?
All will be revealed across the two box sets of The Sixth Doctor Adventures due to be released in 2026, beginning with April’s Expulsion, which takes the time-travelling trio to three dangerous points in Earth’s history…
Doctor Who – The Sixth Doctor Adventures: Expulsion is available to pre-order now for just £19.99 (download to own) or £24.99 (download to own + collector’s edition CD), exclusively here. Please note: the collector’s edition CD box set is strictly limited to 1,500 copies and will not be re-pressed.
The three adventures for the time-travelling trio are:
The Reckoning by Nev Fountain
When the TARDIS is stranded in the path of a neutron star, the Doctor, Peri and Turlough have to flee. They end up in seventeenth-century London, where another old friend, Christopher Marlowe, is trying to get out of a pact he’s made.
Marlowe’s soul is on the line – but has Turlough also made a deal with the Devil… again?
A Crucible of Queens by Lizbeth Myles
In the aftermath of the Battle of Agincourt, the Doctor and Turlough find themselves aligned with opposing factions. Turlough befriends Charles, the Dauphin of France, while the Doctor is tasked with healing his father, King Charles VII.
But two powerful women are also in play: the dauphin’s advisor Yolande, Duchess of Anjou, and his estranged mother, Isabeau of Bavaria. Can the TARDIS crew keep both queens happy – and keep their own heads?
The Curse of the Duergar by Julian Richards
Shieldmaiden Hervor braves the ghosts of her ancestors to claim her birthright, the sword Tyrfing. Made by the Duergar, the Dwarf kings of the below, the blade is cursed: once drawn, it must kill.
Even the Doctor cannot resist the power of the sword, and to the horror of Peri and Turlough, he is forced to take a life…
The guest cast of The Sixth Doctor Adventures: Expulsion includes Debbie Chazen (The Smoking Room, Mine All Mine) as Isabeau of Bavaria, Julie Dray (Crashing, Avenue 5) as Yolande of Aragon, and Lara Lemon (Insomnia, The Drowned) as Hervor, plus further names to be announced.
Producer Jacqueline Rayner said: “This is a really exciting set for me – three fabulous historical stories plus some deep-diving into the psyches of the TARDIS regulars following the surprise (at least I hope it was a surprise!) reunion at the end of the previous boxset.”
Script editor Robert Valentine added: “The Doctor and Peri suddenly have a new and unexpected TARDIS-mate, but he’s someone they’re both already familiar with: Vislor Turlough. Yes, Turlough is back, but he’s got some brand-new secrets, and he’s having a hard time deciding if he can trust this brash Sixth Doctor the way he finally came to trust the Fifth.
“We’ve got three terrific writers on this set: Nev Fountain, Lizbeth Myles and Julian Richards, and helping them bring Turlough back into the fold for an epic arc has been huge fun. The Doctor, Peri and Turlough’s new adventures take them from Elizabethan England to dark age Denmark via the fallout of the Battle of Agincourt, but Earth’s troubled history is hardly more turbulent than their own.”
Big Finish listeners can save money be pre-ordering Expulsion in a multibuy bundle with 2026’s second Sixth Doctor Adventures box set (title TBC, due for release in August) for just £38 (download to own) or £47 (download to own + collector’s edition CD box set).
Alternatively, listeners can buy this release as part of a bundle of all 15 Classic Doctor Who box sets released in 2026 for just £285 (download to own) or £352.50 (download to own + collector’s edition CD box set).
All the above prices (including pre-order and multibuy bundle discounts) are fixed for a limited time only and guaranteed no later than 30 June 2026.
Big Finish is currently operating a digital-first release schedule. The mailout of collector’s edition CDs will be delayed, but all purchases of this release unlock a digital copy that can be immediately downloaded or played on the Big Finish app from the release date.

Forward??? FORWARD!?! I didn’t realise this was a possible direction for releases to move… ![]()
I’ve just gone through the releases and the only major change, other than the mentioned Sixth Doctor Adventures is that Audio Novels 11 has moved to JANUARY '27. A reminder that Vol 10 should have come out a while ago and was re-scheduled to come out after Vol 11.
Some months for this year are looking lite, so expect some more announcements in the coming months.
They end up in seventeenth-century London, where another old friend, Christopher Marlowe, is trying to get out of a pact he’s made.
Is this going to call back to “Point of Entry”? I have a weird amount of nostalgia for it for how little I remember.
Denmark is certainly having a moment right now, with it appearing in a recent 8th Doctor audio and this one.
Long live Denmark ![]()
