The other alternative, is creating new stories with novel and comic characters that fit within their prose adventures. Then we’d still get the voices to have in our heads while we read, and we’d get new stories. I’d love the continuing adventures of Eight and Destrii set after they walk off into the sunset in The Flood.

My take on Donna and others returning is that “the sequel doesn’t ruin the original.” Jaws 2 is crap, but that has no bearing on Jaws, which remains amazing. Donna returns after a heartbreaking exit, but that doesn’t make her exit any less heartbreaking because I remember living through that scene the first time, and that memory is always associated with the scene. The moment is still there, unaltered.

I mean they’ve not been around for long, its not some like sneaky thing that they’ve not said. Someone on twt asked yesterday if they’ll be doing more this year and they advised there are no plans right now.

Agreed, I also don’t think it ruin the original. But Jaws 2 continues being crap.
That’s not me saying I thought the 60th specials were crap (I actually strongly liked Wild Blue Yonder and The Giggle), but the original storyline staying the same doesn’t mean I don’t think it was a bad idea as a follow up.

If we transform them to audio, about ‘season 1’:
I think The Keep → Fire and Brimstone could work well as a 1 parter/3 parter. Endgame I think should be a two parter, but Wormwood and Tooth and Claw could be extended to fit a four parter. Not sure about The Final Chapter. A Life of Matter and Death, By Hook or by Crook and Happy Deathday are all one parters.

I’ve got a question for those of you who have heard the 8th Doctor Time War range. Myself and @LucyBA are currently preparing a ‘starters guide to 8 on audio’ for the site, but want to check the general view on something.
For the Time War range, what would you say are the jumping on points?

It’s still wild to me that S5 isn’t just Uncharted 1, with S6 as Uncharted 2, since it clearly carries on the same characters and plot threads
