I love the Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone two-parter. I think it does the Weeping Angels really well and the River stuff was so much fun to rewatch when I’d learned who she was.

Very surprised honestly that I’m currently the only one who has chosen Vincent and the Doctor, even if it’s very early in the poll. It’s the only story in this series I would really give a 5/5 to… and even then it has ‘problems’.

Basic Answer, but I will go with Vincent and the doctor for now. Not the biggest Fan of said Series, but hey it does have some other great Stories (Beast Below, Amy’s Choice, Eleventh Hour)

A really good season. Probably Moffat’s best. Hard choice between Vincent and Eleventh. I chose Vincent.

I think Vincent is the best episode of Series 5, though my favourite is Eleventh Hour. Vincent and the Doctor is a beautiful episode which I think does a good job at humanising Vincent as a person with troubles, and that ending where he sees just how beloved his art is to people always makes me cry ugly tears :sob:. I think the Doctor’s comment to Amy at the end of the episode about how despite them not “saving” Vincent in the end, they still showed him kindness and gave him a bright day in a dark life is very real and very important.

I like how Eleventh Hour is my favourite, yet I yapped about a completely different episode :joy:. Eleventh Hour is just a good, fun episode with Matt Smith in his element. The Doctor’s “Basically, run” scene gives me chills every time, idk I just adore Matt Smith and the Eleventh Doctor and I think Eleventh Hour is one of his most Eleventh-y episodes.

How to choose between The Eleventh Hour, the Angels two-parter, The Lodger, The Big Bang, The Pandorica Opens and Vincent and the Doctor?

Well in the end it’s easy because The Eleventh Hour is sublime! :sunglasses:

It’d be Time of Angels and Flesh and Stone for me, but I do prefer part 1 due to the palpable dread towards the end, and with the mystery of it all.

Despite popular opinions, I heavily dislike Vincent and The Doctor, and found it incredibly dull as a kid. I still don’t really understand all the hype it gets beyond its representation of mental health struggles. Doesn’t help I don’t care all that much for Vincent van Gogh…

If not for Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone, it’d be Amy’s Choice for me. Beautifully nightmarish and creative

The Beast Below is underrated. I haven’t watched it in a long time but I remember enjoying the atmosphere, the characters, the whole vibe. I think Moffat is too hard on himself with this one.

Top 10 justified crashouts, I love this episode, it’s probably one of my favourite first trip in the TARDIS episode. Honestly, Matt Smith completely nails the role of the Doctor in this episode. It’s quite surprising to hear the Doctor speak to a companion with such venom, he’s so upset and is lashing out at everyone around him.

I think that “The Beast Below” and “The Fires of Pompeii” are the best first trips for a companion. They both mix consequences with fun perfectly.
