Well I did already do a Post relating to my Showrunner Fantasy, but it might as well be fun to answer some of those Questions regardless!
Something like the 8th or 1st Doctor, both have Qualities in them which are universal (dare I say and this might be a hot take but most if not all Qualities a Doctor can have are in both of them). I am not sure but there is just something about both of these Doctors which would be a great Inspiration Point (and they are usually the ones I write in any Fanfics if I have a particular Incarnation in mind).
I wouldn’t know, the beauty of doctor Casting for me at least is that it’s mostly unknowns. Not only does it help the Viewer to associate them with the Character and not any other Character, but it’s only just a wonderful Thing for some of these Actors to get a Starting Point. I would like to get somebody who is like that and while I have no clear Idea who I would actually cast, somebody like Esmé Creed-Miles would be probably the closet of me getting a Casting Choice. Admittedly, I am not too familiar with her Filmography, so I wouldn’t say 100% that I’d cast her, but she does tickle some of my Boxes.
Too Ambitious, even if I get Disney Money, haha. But something along the Line like 8’s Tardis. I would want it to have plenty of different Rooms and would love to bring back older Console Rooms via those multiple Rooms.
Figures from the Past and Aliens. Both of which would be my ideal, while I do love a good Future Companion, I wouldn’t want to write one myself, honestly. Ideas for Companions I would like to write would include: a female Pirate, a female anthropomorphic Alien, and maybe somebody from the Aztec Times. Characterwise, I think they would differ from a lot of the modern Companions, maybe some who actually don’t enjoy travelling at first. I am not quite sure on the overall Characters.
Bring back a few Writers who expressed Interest in returning and that I would love to see back, possibly some from other Corners from the EU and of course PLENTLY of new Blood. I’d say I would want a healthy 50/50 mix for my first season with new and old Writers, I think the Show does need new blood very much, but I think starting off with more familiar names in one Half would help a lot, as the Era goes on, the new Writers take over more and more. (this is by the way going off the Assumption of a larger Episode count).
Lots of Pure Historicals, lots of Genre-focused Episode (a Musical one, one without any Word being spoken etc) and probably a few fairly more ‘Standard’ Adventures. As for any Storylines, I’d love to introduce some new Villains or Aliens or even Allies that could reappear more often throughout the Era.
No Arcs, I am not a very Arc Person, so I would probably leave that out, maybe have some Mysteries here and there but nothing akin to most NuWho Arcs.
If I had to describe my Era, it would probably be the most variety Show that Who has ever been. While of course Variety is a big selling Point in Who, I find that most Eras have a pretty consistent Tone and Style to them, my Doctor Who will it would lead a bit more into Character Pieces and a Gothic Feel to it, would feel VERY different from Episode to Episode. That would be at least my Goal.
