What’s the newest bit of Doctor Who related info you’ve discovered.

My favourite new thing is from the latest DWM.

Stephen Mansfield - one of the people behind a lot of 80s visual effects work like Fifi, the Destroyer, the Haemovores and the green baby from Delta and the Bannermen - is now the principal sculptor at Madame Tussauds and was involved in the new Ncuti Gatwa wax figure!

I’m going to tag this topic and make my own version of Doctor Who Trivial Pursuit :sunglasses:

Honestly, the huge list of people that were considered as possible Doctors for the 1996 TV Movie has quite a few interesting picks, like Rowan Atkinson, Patrick Stewart, Derek Jacobi, Ian McKellen, and Eric Idle…

And when they narrow it down to people they actually had audition, it included Anthony Stewart Head!

I discovered recently that there are only two tv stories with the Rani (though I haven’t yet watched either), which is pretty wild in relation to the amount of speculation I saw on her in regards to the new season. In general it’s pretty funny to see fandom stuff on some characters before actually seeing their parts in the show.

They weren’t even top rated, 10/10 episodes, either. But she was a time lord, and people are always interested in them showing up again, and her character had a lot of potential. Not to mention Kate O’ Mara (RIP) was great in the role…

There is one more televised story with the Rani, though it might have been kinder not to have mentioned that

You can prise Time and Mark of the Rani out of my cold dead hands :triumph: Are they good? ummm… But do I love them? Forever and ever.

Well, I mean, it’s the Rani…

I was curious when it’s mentioned that Jason Kane’s middle name is Peter, didn’t find the answer to that on TARDIS Wiki, but found out that he’s supposed to have brown hair, yet was depicted with blond hair in Deadfall and Gary Russell confirmed that it is Jason (rather than Chris Cwej). Just… Why? :joy:

Might I present “Broke Canon” from DAVIS on Youtube, your new home for all the Whoniverse’s obscure facts.

I shall watch and see how “obscure” those facts actually are …

Mr. Bean, Captain Picard, the Master, Gandalf/Magneto or a Python as the Doctor? Any of those choices would’ve been weird

The Stone Rose claims that Rose’s middle name is Marion, which came as a complete surprise to me! It’s a cool name, though I always associate it with Indiana Jones.

Well, Rowan less weird then some, since he actually played the Doctor in Curse of Fatal Death, and did a credible job there.

The fact that Andrew Hunt - author of Cat’s Cradle Witch Mark - was a vet. Two people have mentioned it in Book Club and I never knew that!

That the late Dave Myers (Hairy Biker) was an uncredited make-up assistant on ‘Vengeance on Varos’, having input on Nabil Shaban’s Sil make-up.
