Yes, it could have been so much better. It was a shame that finding an underground station was the clue to it being Earth, as this had been used in Mysterious Planet before, and how can an “apex predator” exist without the pyramid of species below it for it to predate on? It needed at least one more draft to get it right.

Got it in three generally had no idea what doctor it even was until the bit about o2, don’t think I’ve seen that one since it came out.

I agree. It’s nowhere near as bad as many make out but it’s also deeply frustrating because it feels like a first draft. Some really nice ideas, plus the Dregs are rather fantastic. Who was it who said it could have done with a second episode? Was it @SweetAIBelle? I quite agree! There’s enough to warrant deeper exploration, and a lot of the oddities could have been smoothed out. I feel the same about Hime’s other script, too. Plenty of ideas. Imaginative and colourful, yet it needed breathing space.
