We have now finished our three elimination games and found out which is the best companion in each category. But who is the best?

Why choose? I’m up for a TARDIS team of Jamie, Ace, and K9…

Because I want to make your life harder :joy:

Personally, I like Jamie more, but I think Ace is better written and more modern in the sense that she’s consciously made to be less a traditional companion and more a modern, young woman in her own right. So that’s why I picked Ace.

Now, if Handles had been here instead of K9…

But my favourites are not here (well, except Ace ofc) so now I must sulk :triumph::laughing:

No Wilf and Donna so I riot !!!

Out of these three it’s definitely Jamie for me, but I do absolutely adore Ace.

Poor K9 isn’t getting any love :smiling_face_with_tear:

Flexes fingers and starts to type a 40 page dissertation on what constitutes a companion and why Wilf is definitely one of them, accidentally closes browser and deletes the lot…

Boy you were lucky there! Still, as Bill Filer was a companion, I’m sure you’d understand.

Hmm… In that case, perhaps we could find some common ground :sunglasses:

I’m like 99% sure Ace will be my favourite even though I haven’t actually seen any stories with her so far (well except power of the doctor), everything I learn about her makes me like her more

Am I the only one who thinks that Ace is just a mid-tier companion? I think that she is written how a grown-up thinks that a teen talks and does not feel real in that way. What am I missing??

Well, she was a teenager in the late 80s, so it’s not the same thing as being a teenager now!

That’s strong confidence in a character you haven’t experienced! I hope you don’t set too high expectations.

What drivel is this?! Don’t engage him! Soon we’re going to claim that a walking, talking dog alien was the Doctor’s companion!

Oh, wait…

I think the way she talks is fine for her age (she has the kind of speech you’d expect from a rough and tumble, punk youth crowd), and I don’t mind her as a companion. I respect that she’s built from the same cloth companions that usually come from (female, young), and yet her antics and personality show she was cut wildly against the grain compared to them. But I think she’s a bit overrated also. Granted, I don’t gravitate towards characters like her so I know that’s more of a “me, not you” thing.

I will die on the hill that he is, just as I did at the meet up and during the male elimination game!

How are you alive if you’ve died twice on a hill?:grin::sunglasses::wink:

On my third incarnation! Those regenerations were a little painful, and I’ve got pins and needles from sitting on this hill so long.
