This is also an interesting Dino fact! A lot of dinosaur spices are the same at diffrent ages but are sceen as diffrent because of the ego of scientist.
Very enjoyable video. I did know about most of these, with Pachycephalosaurs being the most well-known example. There is of course still debate on some of these, but I especially found the methodology fascinating. I totally understand the “scientists have egos” and “everyone wants something bigger”, as that came up a lot in the book I just finished about Barnum Brown and the discovery of T. rex.
I used to be hyperfixated on sharks (still am, but at a smaller scale), as well as extinct sharks and other extinct marine animals.
My favourite dinosaur is Liopleurodon, but I will lie if I say that I don’t like a good old Megalodon. It’s a terrifyingly awesome creature.
Just for you to understand my hyperfixation of sharks - I own an actual Megalodon tooth
That Megalodon tooth is amazing! Liopleurodon is a great species, though it’s not actually a dinosaur. Instead, it’s a marine reptile from a family known as pilosaurs.
Ah, sorry, my bad)
No problem. I’ve gotten used to the lay person grouping Pterosaurs, aquatic reptiles like pliosaurs, plesiosaurs and ichthyosaurs, as well as pre-dinosaur species, into the general grouping of “dinosaur”. On the other hand, my autistic pedenticness can’t help but correct you.
Awwwww thank you
One of my favourite youtubers is a zoologist who mostly does “pet reviews”, as in, going over the pros and cons of various animals one might want to keep as a pet. Every once in a while he does a joke one of these, and as it is currently Dinosaur December, well…
He has a lot of dino videos in general, they’re all very informative.
I’ve seen little bits and pieces of his videos here and there. Don’t have time to watch this right away, but I’ll probably look at it at some point.
Also, everyone, feel free to post anything dinosaur or prehistoric life here. It’s not necessarily my intent to monopolize this thread.
