I noticed today there’s a Copilot-esque lie creator under the guise of a “summary” button. Now, I’m sure I don’t need to go with the normal Who defences, I can just say, “This is a forum. We are here to read.” Is there a way to disable this in any way or was it implemented by the hosting technology with no method of disabling?
It has been there a long time; I think that it comes with the forum software. Is there a problem with having it?
I have a personal aversion to it and would prefer the ability to not see the button, myself. Is there a settings where I can hide the button?
May I ask why? You don’t have to use it.
Don’t think so. @shauny has to answer that?
Pretty sure there isn’t actually an option to show or hide it, just set who can actually generate the summaries, and that part already is limited.
You might be best off learning how to use browser plugins like Stylus or Tampermonkey to customize web sites on your computer, and use one of them to make it so the button doesn’t appear for you. That way, if you take a sudden disliking to parts of other websites, you could change what shows on your side for them as well…
Also, just moving this to the correct section of the forum.
This is exactly what I thought. Here’s the uBlock filter:

Yeah, uBlock might be easier, come to think about it.
